Second stay here and only disgruntled at how out of the way this place is. Great place to stay IF you dont intend to venture much. Theres a Chickfilee, Fridays, and a chinese buffet within 100ft but there is NOTHING close by if you want to expore your food options. Forget continental breakfast because EVERYTHING to eat here is for sale at a markup. Today is January 28th...why is there STILL a $1 hold on my business account since the 12th which is the day i checked out? They refunded my "Incidentials Deposit" to my account in hours but left a dollar hold on my account for over 2 weeks? Weird! šŸ¤”(Photo attatched) The CLOSEST place i was directed to for breakfast was a Bojangles which was about 3/4 mile walk in each direction to and from the hotel. Tip: My friend had free breakfast by going accross the street to the Hilton and acting like she was a guest. My first stay was beautiful. My second stay was interesting. 1 hour after my check in, housekeeping barged in (using her keycard) saying my room is marked as 'vacant'. Trying to figure things out, i inquired WHY she came to the room if it was already cleaned and was met with confused looks as if suddenly she dont comprehend english. So i asked in Spanish šŸ˜‚ and she showed me her clipboard that indicated my room was marked as vacated. Maybe 1 hr later was met with a knock at the door by a lady who was checking if housekeeping already serviced the room. šŸ¤¦šŸ½ The staff at Reception is beautiful. I didnt catch their names but the meduim sized black lady (left desk)and the older white lady (right desk) that worked during midday friday are ABSOLUTE SWEETHEARTS who are informative, respectful, curteous, and professional. They BOTH are assets to that establishment. The room i was in was decently sized. Do heed that the big bathroom eats up a lot of the 400+ sq footage of the room size advertised. As such, the usable space is comparable to a regular room at Econolodge which is considerably cheaper (but not as nice).

Well I’m not sure what hotel all the positive reviews stayed at but I just stayed there based on reviews and pictures on website and what a dump! I’ll start my review with arriving at airport to find out they don’t operate their shuttle service any longer or had to spend $68 on an Uber. We were checking in both employees seemed depressed and unhappy not friendly at all didn’t tell us anything about hotel or direct us to any amenities/facilities on site. Got to the king suite we booked in March 2024 to find it disguistingly dirty. Our room might off been nice at one time but very tired and dirty. King bed not a king at best oversized queen. Old TVs that were grainy and stopped working after 3-4 hrs. Not even smart TVs. Chairs couch and all drapes smelled weird and were dirty/stained. Hallway smelled like pot/weed everyday. Bathroom so small couldn’t close the door unless you crammed yourself between tub and toilet. Also there is no restaurant/lounge area closed up just some chairs , no breakfast, the grab and go market is just a fridge with expensive price tags on items. Pool closed and housekeeping once a week. This hotel’s website is super deceiving the only thing that looks good is the parking lot and green space. Staff/ employees didn’t want to assist or help us they just ignore people not friendly at all!! Honestly I can’t believe I had to pay to stay there it was so depressed and dirty. I would have moved to different hotel but they already charged me and wouldn’t give full refund! Had hotel informed us that they couldn’t offer us amenities we were looking for I would of booked elsewhere, lots of hotels in area I just thought this one was supposed to be upscale not the bates motel!!

I know that this review is extremely wordy, but well worth the read! First I’ve got to say, I came from Western North Carolina for a training class in Charlotte all day tomorrow. I did not get to this hotel until pretty late. I called ahead (but that was still late because I spent most of my day out in Garren Creek (Fairview NC) helping a friend on his property. Hurricane Helene (hit WNC on 9/26/24) was preceded by another torrential storm from the NW that added to the impact of our area. Unfortunately Garren Creek is still far from recovery, as are soooo many areas around WNC still. Kelvin was the gentleman that answered my very late call to request a late check-in. He was completely understanding and then asked for my ETA (and I gave it to him from my GPS). He let me know that he would quickly let me in the secured front doors when I arrived. When I did arrive, he did just that, and demonstrated the nicest, most welcoming, and knowledgeable experience I’ve had at a hotel away from home. I am currently staying in a hotel back home with a FEMA Voucher. I have to say, those folks back home are super amazing too! Coming from a Hotel Assistant Management background myself, I understand that the hospitality industry is not very hospitable without great customer service. Kelvin demonstrated something better than great customer service…he treated me like a fellow human and not like a room number. Thank you, Jeremy

First , I ordered a room with 2 queen sized bed for my family when we arrived to the room to after a long drive we wanted to shower and relax realized that it was only two bath cloths and two towels. I called the front desk to get room service I was told to come down to the desk to retrieve those items. I was annoyed that I had to go to the front desk. When I reached the front desk I inquired about why I had to come down the front desk explained that she is the only person that is working and apologize for no staff. I explained I’m sorry for you but let’s start by the bath item was short to begin with. I have 2 queen sized bed it should have been four bath cloths 4 towels so you shorted us from the beginning and I have to come and get it. Then the ice machine wasn’t working on any of the 3 floors of the hotel and that you had to go to the lobby where you found the ice in a barrel from Home Depot to scoop it out with no scooper. Health department should have been here seriously. I guess we forgot what happened to the world when Covid was introduced. The woman all she could say was ā€œim sorry!ā€ Which was too many I actually told her I didn’t want to hear anymore ā€œI’m sorry ā€œ because it seemed like it was normal to say after while. Then the pool was advertised like it’s a 10. Well I’m here to tell you that the pool is a zero ā€œ0ā€. The water was dirty, pool area was dirty the pool hours was 10-8 but never open no life guards on board this hotel didn’t provide coffee. What happened to southern hospitality? We paid too much money not to receive the services. Room service comes every 3 days. Wow. I had to hunt for the items needed when it should have been part of my stay. Just the little things did not add up. Btw. I paid over $600 for the room for 3 nights. Al least room service could have shown up to give clean linen. Very very very unhappy with this hotel. They got my money but didn’t get any services listed on the website. Be careful before choosing this hotel. It seems no one is complaining about it only one staff to cover the hotel. Room service comes every 3 days we got no room services. Don’t let the pictures fool you. This hotel isn’t...

Sonesta Hotel at this location is a great place. W W.T.Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28262I would like to start off by saying this hotel is very nice.

The start of my story and experience:

When booking a hotel stay in the area for the ZMAX Drag racing show, I didn't know which hotel would be a good value for money spent $708 for three days. I booked the Sonesta Simply Suites thinking it was this hotel. What a HORRIBLE mistake. The Sonesta Simply Suites is very, very, very bad. Drug dealers, roaches, extremely dated rooms, people living on the property. It's the HOOD of hotels. Once inside the room the television was already on playing Passion of the Christ movie. I immediately knew it was a bootleg copy of the movie, because Jesus had on tennis shoes fighting back the same niggaz I observed outside of the hotel selling drugs. (Just joking). Bad place. I drove to this hotel Sonesta W W.T. Harris Blvd to check it out because at this point I did not care about losing my money at the Sonesta Simply Suites Hotel. I had to leave at all cost for my mental sanity. Once I entered this hotel I felt immediately relieved. The hotel front lobby guy name Calvin was awesome, professional, and looked well kept and sharp in his hotel uniform. His demeanor was calm and professional. I explained what had happen to me regarding my experience with the other hotel. Through his patience, and professional mindset he helped me and my lady get into this hotel which made out trip 100% better. Thank you Calvin and the Sonesta team. Me and the my lady are retired professional people. I am a retired police official who now owns a security company . I also served the Nation's Capital in Washington DC excorting Presidents Bush, Obama and Trump to executive meetings as a DC Police Excecutive Motor Patrol Official. I really needed this short vacation as I am a very busy man running a armed security company. I want to once again thank Calvin for his professionalism and making my much needed trip a pleasant one. Calvin you are a valuable asset to the Sonesta team....

I had a one night stay, booked through a third party. I was not able to get my room until 3 hours after booking. My rating is for the room & service.

We were placed in room 200 on the first floor, it never cooled off in the room regardless of what we changed the thermostat too. - Im not sure if the office sets it at a certain temperature or if it's suppose to work from your room. We did not ask for a replacement room considering we booked third party & the previous interaction with front desk. The o ly thing that was cold was the mini fridge which frozen my food but at least it done the job.

Now to speak on the service that I received: I'm not sure if Mr. Ronnie overlooked the booking, couldn't find it, or it was on behalf of the third party. Anywho I spoke back & forth with both separately & together. I did ask for a manager from Mr. Ronnie upon me asking the third or forth time within a hour if my room was available. He stated that management was unable and there was no manager there at the time. He aslo assumed that the third party I booked with must be fake because he never heard of it and stated that I should call them and try to get my money back. He also stated that there is so many third party bookings that he wouldn't be sure of how it would come in or when.

After I told him that the third party I booked with had taken the money out and telling me the room should be able and giving me a confirmation number - which mr.ronnie refused to look up until after I repeatedly called instead of walking in - the room however "didn't appear" because the name would just appear and he didn't see it. I will say that I asked to leave my name & number to be called once the booking showed. After complete frustration management of the third party app contacted the hotel personally and immediately after I received a call from Mr.Ronnie stating my room was available...Now as I stated before Im not sure what the confusion was about however waiting 3 hours for a room that was booked before...
