Run, do not walk, from this hotel. I would give a negative -5,000,000 rating. Hotel staff loves to terrorize my wife and kids. They are rude, condescending, and they made it clear that we are not welcomed there. My kids are traumatized by the treatments we were given and collectively came to the conclusion that this was the WORST hotel experience in our family.
When we stay at hotels we always need extra towels to take care of kids hygiene needs. So I always ask for more towels when we stay at hotels. * NOT ONCE * have I EVER been burdened by the request of extra towels in my 30+ years of staying at hotels !!
This time though it's different. The towels in the room had stains on them. My wife went to the front desk at night to ask for more towels. Guess what ? She was given a hard time. First she was questioned "what's wrong with the towels ?". When she explained that they were stained she was told "you need to bring the towels to me". My wife was dumbfounded and had no choice but to go back to the room to get the towels to "return" to the "rude woman". She finally agreed to give my wife the towels but her colleague next to her reminded her that she should not demand the return of towels but there was no apology at all.
There was even a sign posted in our bathroom that says "To request a stayover cleaning or just a few extra towels, simply call or stop by the front desk and we'll be happy to help !" Clearly hotel staff needs additional training as they clearly did not understand what it meant by "happy to help" ! See photo.
My wife also asked for some utensils. We started the dishwasher to wash all the utensils and the kids got hungry so we didn't have any available. Again, the rude woman questioned my wife "where are your utensils ??" and gave her a hard time. My wife had to repeatedly explained that they are all in the dishwasher being washed before she unwillingly handed out some plastic utensils. She also complained to my wife that "these utensils are for breakfast", treating her like a criminal for taking up resources for breakfast. Go figure - don't forget this is supposed to be a Hilton !!
Clearly the rude women was just picking on my wife.
The final straw was the woman that runs the breakfast bar. My wife took the kids up to the bar and my kids were getting plates. The plates were next to the hot foods but my kids were not even trying to get hot food, just the plates. She screamed at my wife that kids are not allowed to touch hot foods. I understand this policy but she definitely needs help with her manner. My kids are absolutely traumatized by her.
Then this woman had too much time on her hands and was blaming my daughter for some mess on the cereal area.
My daughter went to get Fruit Loops cereal but the woman gave her a hard time about the spilled cheerios on the table. My daughter didn't even get the cheerios.
Woman said : "Did you make this mess ?" My daughter : "No." Woman said : "Well, the cheerios wasn't here before you came." My daughter : "But I didn't get the cheerios. I got the fruit loops." Woman said : "So you sure you didn't get cheerios?" while cleaning the cheerios. My daughter : "No."
Seriously ? This coming from a Hilton ? One word : WOW. Readers : ask yourself if you would like your kids to be subject to an interrgation by a "cereal police" like this. The "police" will incriminate you if you happen to be standing next to some mess !! Maybe they will force you to admit and clean up !!
Food at this hotel was mediocre kind of like kindergarten food anyway. Not what you would expect at a Hilton. But that woman's nasty altitude takes the cake.
However, I will end the review with a bit of silver lining. Yes a positive thing actually came out of our vomiting experience at this hotel. There was a tall man whom I believe does maintenance work there. He ran into us in the same elevator ride and cheerfully asked how our days were and were joking with my kids, making their days. Mad...
Read moreIf you want to know you’ll be handled with compassion in case the power goes out and you can’t use any of the amenities, shower, and only sleep in a hot ass room, RUN somewhere else!!
Let’s start with the fact that there was a man roaming the hallways on the phone from when I first checked in (2:20pm something) to when I got back from the concert (sometime after midnight). I was creeped out by that and kept hearing constant banging coming from the room next door and below me. I've never been to a hotel and heard noise coming from below.. The power then went out at 12:59am. I had just got back from a concert in the rain not too long before that & was about to get in the shower. As soon as the power went out, l started freaking out thinking that man was about to come in my room and try to pimp me out. I wanted to leave the hotel, but my sister informed me that wouldn’t be smart because he could’ve been out there waiting on me. So I had to put the chair against the door handle & sleep on the phone in fear of something happening. I couldn’t even go to sleep til 3 something because I was so terrified. Not only did the power go out, but the hot water was also out. I was unable to take a shower after being in the rain and around a plethora of people at a concert. I understand things happen, however it was not handled well AT ALL! I drove from Huntsville, Alabama to Charlotte which means I now have to drive 7 hrs back w/ no shower or stop somewhere else to take one. Why should I have to do that if I paid $250 for one night? The person at the front desk, named Cammie, had 0 empathy or compassion!! The power was still out when I woke up (6am) so I went back to sleep & woke back up at 9am. Went downstairs to try to get everything situated and was told there was only one young girl who clearly shouldn’t have been left by herself. She said she had to call her friend, who was the supervisor (Cammie) to come in. I packed up all my bags, went downstairs, almost broke my finger trying to carry my luggage down 4 flights of extremely dark steps, and asked the lady if there would be any type of compensation or discount for the inconvenience since I couldn’t use any of the amenities I paid for. I spent $250 and could only use the bed.. Cammie said “there’s nothing we can do for you, and didn’t you pay through a 3rd party?” I said “yes, I did.”Cammie responded, “well you didn’t even pay us anything, you only paid them” Need I really say more? Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Will never come here again. & she made me feel as if I don’t have the same advantages booking through a 3rd party VS the hotel. I work in customer service and deal with 3rd parties as well and would NEVER say that to a customer. She tried to treat me as if I was a young, ignorant little girl that hasn’t been through life. I honestly knew she was going to be like that when she saw my ID and said “oh I thought you weren’t going to be old enough to rent a room” …. Who says that..? As a short person, I deal with jabs daily. Don’t need that coming from somewhere I’m spending my hard earned money. A simple “you look good for your age” or something along those lines would’ve sufficed if she wanted to point out my age so damn bad. All in all, I will NEVER come back to ANY of these franchise hotels & have been relaying the message to all of my friends and...
Read moreOur company reserves rooms at this particular hotel on a regular basis especially over the last 3 weeks that we have been in Charlotte. I will give credit where credit is due as the hotel is clean and reasonably priced. However our happiness was short lived due to items being stolen from our room. We arrived 8/28/2017. It was our 2nd night (8/30/2017) and we came back to your room after work. We both are freshening up for dinner with our boss is when we noticed our make up was missing along with our make brushes. I know what you thinking...How random is that? Not to mention that our make up was in a make up bag, in a larger make up bag in a drawer. It was all put away when we left that morning. So before we called the manager we wanted to be extra sure that it didn't fall on the floor. So we looked inside and under everything. My co-worker left her hair products out on the night stand table and those were stolen as well.
We called down to the front desk and they inform us a manager was there. We decided to talk to the manager in person. The manager Guillermo. We explained our situation and he was very nice and very genuine. He informed us that he would notify the his GM and they would contact us in the morning.
Upon checking out we stop by the front desk around 9:30am on 8/31/2017. We spoke to the GM who's name in Genia. Unfortunately our first impression of her gave us a gut feeling that she didn't care. We were not greeting with a warm and friendly disposition rather a "we are bothering her" impression. Whether she meant it or not that was our impression. She clearly hadn't read her email from Guillermo so we had to tell our story from the beginning. She agreed this was such a unique circumstance. She keep saying our "items were misplaced". I let it go because I knew how random this entire situation may seem. I ask her if she wants pictures and cost of the items that were missing and she said, "no". By her response I knew she was going to dismiss this because our "Make-Up" wasn't valuable to her. She informs me that they will conduct an investigation and let me know the outcome. I received an email from her that evening stating they were still conducting an investigation. I then respond with pictures of the missing items along with the cost of them.
For one I don't believe an investigation was conducted. However regardless of how petty you may think this is someone went through our personal belongings to take the items that were stolen. We received no apology from her yes the accusation that we misplaced our items. Its very sad as this is a nice hotel however I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. If you decide to stay here I would not allow housekeeping...
