I just experienced possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever had. After spending a day at Carowinds, my family and I used the sonic app to order a late dinner. Spent almost $50, as we hadn’t eaten since the afternoon. We arrived at Sonic and followed the instructions to alert staff we were in a stall waiting. Two minutes later, an older “gentleman” walked out with a receipt in his hand. He stated that due to short staffing, they had closed early, and our order had “just” popped up on their screen. He went out of his way to say that he had nothing to do with the app, and because of this, we would have to call and get a refund. I know this isn’t true because when you search for locations on the app, other sonic restaurants show that mobile ordering is unavailable. So I’m guessing he just forgot to turn off the feature at this location, then made up an excuse to escape responsibility and accountability. He never apologized as a representative of sonic. He never offered any solution or consolation. He was flat in his tone and almost condescending. He had the worst attitude and demeanor of anyone I’ve ever encountered in the service industry. I could tell he’d had a rough day, but that is no reason to treat paying customers so poorly. I asked him to write on the receipt that we didn’t receive our order so that I wouldn’t have an issue getting a refund. He literally said “no, I don’t write on receipts”. I asked him his name, and he said “manager” as he walked away. My wife called after him because he still had the receipt in his hand, and he yelled that he was done with us and that he’d told us he couldn’t help. We literally had to ask another associate to go inside and grab the receipt. I need a phone call from corporate, and a phone call from this location ASAP. This manager owes me and my family an apology. I don’t want anything free, that’s not what this is about. I would like an apology and a refund. Will never return to this location. While he refused to give me his name, the receipt says “Tony”. I’m not sure if Tony is an associate who would have brought out our order if it existed, or the “manager”...
Read moreThis place is terrible. I have taken my family here on multiple occasions and it’s always something. They never let you order through drive thru, often closed at random times in the day, etc. My most recent experience was Friday night. After a long day of yard work, I took my family there for dessert and we pull in to order. After several minutes of waiting after pushing the button, someone came on and simply stated that they were only taking app orders. What? Why? Ok. So I downloaded the app and fumbled through the online order and, after being at the restaurant for 15 minutes, finally got my order placed and decided to leave a tip. One shake, one blast, one slushie. After several more minutes, a very rude lady comes out with just the slushie and a receipt. She hands it to me and says “we ain’t doing the other things.” What do you mean? Why can’t I have my full order? Because you’re lazy? Don’t feel like it? Out of ice cream?
So she hands me the slushie and immediately turns and walks away I have to call out and ask her about my refund. She says that it’ll go back on the card. Instead of making a scene in front of my wife and six year old daughter, I leave and take them to rock hill to get the rest of our order. After getting there and looking at the receipt, I notice that they not only kept the tip that I left on the app, but also did a cash refund and kept it. So not only did I not get my order and have to drive another 20 minutes after wasting 20 minutes sitting and a drive to this location, they then felt that the deserved to keep my tip and thought that it was okay to steal my refund. I have reached out to corporate but nothing as of yet. I will never go back to this location. They are consistently rude, lazy, and apparently thiefs. The Rock Hill location always does a...
Read moreI have been to a few Sonics and only 1 sonic off of Forrest point Blvd has 1 lady an older lady who has the best cx service. That is the only positive thing I have to say besides if you can get a fresh burger it's ok .... however the wait time, the cx service, the appearance and the entire lack of service is mind blowing. The staff could care less and it shows in everything that stands for sonic. I don't blame the staff, they only work there and it does not appear that they are appreciated.
I can only say this because the lack of customer service at every sonic I have been has always been a traumatic experience. The only time I am respected as a customer is when I go to the specific sonic off of Forrest point Blvd.... however if the nice short older woman is not there ....there is no reason to go.
I went to sonic a few days ago my burger came up to about $5 and 40cents " they were sold out of onions" they are usually limited on the actual menu items. the server came out and took my $6 gave me my burger and walked away without giving me my change... Now it wasn't about to change it was about the principal. Btw I always tip.
Sonic is one of the few places to eat in the area I work ..so choices are extremely limited. It's always a coin toss with them.
I wasn't going to write a review on them however the service in spite of the really nice little woman...I just had to. Sonic management needs a rehaul you guys are losing so much business it's unbelievable.
Staff needs retraining about cx service and there needs to be more than 1 person at lunchtime taking orders mopping floors cooking the food taking the monies and delivery to the car.....smh. I'm...
