So my wife and I booked this hotel based off of hotel.com and the website. We are from NH and drove 20 hours to go to Charlotte for the Coca cola 600. The outside from the parking lot it looks like your standard hotel. The second you get past the main doors is goes down hill. The entire hotel needs cleaning and updating the hallway carpets have huge stains everywhere. The doors in the hallways are broken. There were crackheads puking at one of th side entrances where we had parked to unload. As for the room they are stated to be suites my wife and I picked a studio suite as the website showed a decent size room. Was said to come equipped with full kitchen plates cups silverware stove microwave ECT. Fridge was turned all the way up and my food in the fridge went back after a day due to it not working properly. There was supposed to be a couch in the living room section which was the end of the bed as we had a third person who was supposed to sleep on the couch that wasn't there but showed online it had one. We asked if they had a roll away cot we could use they said they don't supply any. The carpet in the room looked as if a murder took place and they never removed the carpet giant stains on the floors. Desk chair was broken and ripped beyond belief. Our bed was also broken and the end of our bed was higher that the side you lay on due to the legs of the bed not having the feet on them but the other side pillows were stained and smelt. And needed to be washed. The toilet seat cover would not stay you unless you held it up while using it. The ac would only stay on high no matter the temperature you had the room at. So that's the room now the amenities. Website and hotels.com stated they had breakfast buffet a pool. We arrived and I went for a walk and went out to the courtyard o find pool with no water and locked gates. It is June 1st in North Carolina and the pools isn't cleaned open or even looked like it had planned to be. For breakfast the morning after our first night. I walk down to the lobby to find nothing but a coffee maker and an empty lobby. I go sit in the courtyard at the a nice gazebo that had benches a dirty mop under it. All the other tables and chairs were rusted and thrown about the courtyard as if no one had been out there in days empty wine cooler bottles trash everywhere. I head back inside to get another coffee to see brown bags layed out I grabbed one as I assumed it was "breakfast" I open to bag to find a granola bar a Pillsbury breakfast bar a apple as well as a small carton orange juice. Now this is the first week after all of the covid restrictions and mask bans have been lifted but no where on the Website did it state anything about the pool closing no breakfast buffet. But inside the hotel there were small paper signs stated those things were closed due to covid. It was just extremely disappointing to have stayed here and if you do go here the only plus side are the people at the desk there was a women who worked overnight who was extremely polite and helpful as the residents above our room were be so loud and sounded like a heard of wild animals at 2-3 am our walls were shaking and bed was moving because of them. She took care of it as soon as we told her each time it occurred. Same as the front desk workers during the day they were fast and very helpful when needing something. I was just shocked if you need a place to stay I'd look elsewhere there are 5-6 hotels within a 10...

This review comes from a place of deep concern and personal disappointment, not spite. I travel frequently and have never felt so ignored, mistreated, or emotionally distressed by a hotel — especially one that claims to be “extended stay” quality. Let me be very clear: Sonesta ES Charlotte Arrowood is not a hotel. It’s a poorly managed, run-down 2-star motel that badly needs renovation and new leadership.
I stayed here for several days. I asked to speak to the manager daily about serious concerns, left my number each time, and never got a call back. When I finally saw the manager, Hirac Patel, in person, I calmly explained my situation and how long I had been trying to reach him — instead of listening and caring he was cold, dismissive and forced me to check out. That’s when I got upset. No apology. No accountability.
I have asthma, and the rooms were so dirty, especially the air vents and filters, that I had multiple flare-ups. I tried switching rooms twice — they were all just as bad. No upgrades were offered. No proper cleaning. I was actually handed a vacuum and cleaning supplies and told to clean the vents myself.
That was the moment I realized: this hotel does not care about its guests.
⸻
Major Issues: • Air vents and filters were clogged with dust and mold. No regular maintenance. • Carpets were stained. Closets for AC full of cobwebs and dead bugs. • Shower was moldy. Shower curtain rod was broken and falling off the wall. • Furniture was old, stained, broken. Windows were filthy. • Security is nonexistent. During my stay, three vehicles were broken into overnight. Police confirmed that break-ins are common here. There are no exterior cameras. • Partying and smoking weed in the parking lot, sometimes with 10+ people gathered. No staff intervention.
⸻
Staff Behavior: • Front desk staff are consistently on their phones, rude, and unhelpful. • They act like you’re bothering them just by asking a question. • One concierge (night shift on 6/22) yelled at multiple guests, including one who just needed clean bedsheets for a bug- and stain-infested room. She also had an attitude at people in the lobby and someone on the phone who were asking for vacancy, then casually told her family member orfriend who was in the lobby to “STFU.” Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. • I witnessed her lie about not having towels or bedsheets, then bring some out 5 minutes later when I pushed.
⸻
Facility Issues: • Elevator smells like dog pee. Not cleaned in 4 days. • BBQ area, pool, and basketball court are dirty and poorly maintained. • Trash and dog poop sat outside for days without being picked up. • No poop bag stations for pets. • No daily housekeeping. You must request towels, and even then, they’re often unavailable.
⸻
Rooms to Avoid:
Avoid rooms 311, 305, and 335 — especially if you’re sensitive to dust or have allergies. I personally inspected all three and had to leave due to air quality.
⸻
Bottom Line:
This place should not be taking reservations in its current state. Between the health hazards, total lack of cleanliness, unsafe environment, and unprofessional management, I can honestly say this is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
If you value your health, your safety, and your peace of mind — spend your...

Easy check in and nice sized room. About 4pm took a nap and was awoken because my arm felt like it was on fire. I looked at my arm and it was bitten up . I then searched on the bed for what could have bitten me (fear of bedbugs) and come to find another creature in my bed instead. A mean looking spider. Wtf?!? When do spiders bite people like this bit me? I took a pic of the spider before killing it then went down to the front desk to show them and i was told by a light skinned lady at the desk that they exterminate regularly and being that its spring, insects will be out.
IM RENTING THE ROOM...NOT THE SPIDER NOR AM I PAYING TO BE A BUGS LUNCH.
A Trip to Circle K for big spray..stripped the bed,...sprayed it down...and remade it so i can get the rest i actually need after this ride from Ny.
3:40am woken up by a guy and a girl arguing outside my room..get up, put on my shoes and go to tell them to stfu but they went in their room where it turns into a physical altercation with the female screaming. I tell front desk about the disturbance he radios security who goes to the room where the noise dies down but resumes 10 minutes later. 🤦🏽
There is an armed security guard on site at night. The weekend i was here, he sat in the dining/seating area behind a wall where he has view of the frint entrance and front desk playing/scrolling in his phone.
There was a gaggle of kids REPEATEDLY running up and down the hallways knocking on doors down the hall and running away. I brought this to the front desks attention. The lady shook her head, saying "theyre back? I thought it was said they wasnt going to be allowed to come back because last time they was here the kids set off the fire alarms" before saying I'll leave a note for the hotel's manager. " 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏽🤷🏾♂️
For a non-smoking hotel, the smell of marijuana was PUNGENT in the staircase. That too was brought to the staff's attention and the response was theyll look into it although being that the persin smoking is no longer there, it will be difficult to address the issue. Why does a person who does not smoke that need to walk through the smell? Cant you have housekeeping use the same spray air freshener they use in the rooms to alleviate the marijuana smell in the staircase?
NOTE: pay attention to the Hotel's reply. Their reply is not that that theyre taking pro-active steps to FIX the lsituation(s) or remedy the complaint(s) but instead a curteous reply to show the review has been...
