Steak 'n Hoagie Shop — Restaurant in Charlotte

I have been eating at steak and hoagie since my ex introduced me to them back in 2009! I normally order the same things (grilled chicken pita, grilled chicken Greek salad or the grilled chicken sub). They recently changed the grill chicken pita and added black olives and I LOVE IT! The way that it is now I WOULD NOT change a thing 🤤 it’s the saltiness of the black olives and feta cheese with the fresh mix of the cucumbers, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce for me! AND I just found out that this location added the seafood salad sub to their menu, the ONLY place I was able to purchase that from previously was from certain Subways! You have a customer for life! Not to mention I ALWAYS purchase your pickles even if I have some at home, the pickles are ALWAYS the best! Like the ones out of the barrel we used to get growing up! I LOVE you all! They used to have the best customer service and our experience was always great, not Saturday. My sandwich was not made the way I asked. Also, I ended up throwing away the Greek salad because there was excessive liquid spilling into the bag, it was not the salad dressing. I never got to open the salad dressing. My sister's sandwich was also not made the way she asked. Also, we noticed some people who ordered after us were able to get their food first. Neither of our orders had cooked items... seafood/crab, tuna and Greek salad no meat. While some of the people who called in (order numbers were before ours) were still waiting for their food when we left. We literally watched someone else with a big order come to pick up food she ordered over the phone, pay and then order additional food (new ticket) get her food cooked and bagged before us... even though she came in at least 10 minutes...

Hopefully the foodie crowd won't dare venture into this "working class" gem. So the rest of us can enjoy it in all of it's glory. Reasonably priced, great tasting food that doesn't need to be blogged about or featured by some screaming, skeevy, oddly coifed tv personality. Although I have eaten the sandwiches, the chicken is my first & last choice. 90% of the time, I order & devour the special. Strips, peppers, onions, & rice w/2 sides. Never fails. Sides are consistent. Not the pretentious Michelin star fare the "foodie" crowd adores, but way above average, down to earth food that those of us who like a good meal, prepared by good people like us love. You see a cross section of social & economic backgrounds in there. All treated well & fed even "weller"!!! ( Not a word, I know). I have NEVER been disappointed here, and doubt I ever will. Go!
