Every year, I get a little help from Honeybaked Ham for Thanksgiving. This year I went to a different location than my normal Pineville-Matthews Rd shop. That was a mistake. The Woodlawn shop was a calamity of confusion at best. The pre-paid line is clearly marked, yet the individual guarding the door refused to acknowledge it's existence, insisting that anyone could use any line. Another employee inside corrected them, but she would not budge, going so far as to physically grab my arm to remove me from the line! I do not believe in causing a scene so I did as she asked and went back to the back of the single disorderly line and waited a 2nd time for my pre-paid food. All the while, we are treated to the delightful door guard's cigarette smoke to keep us company. Inside, it is discovered that many items have run out, even those that have already been paid for! Definitely a memorable visit, but for all the wrong reasons. I will stick to my old faithful location...
Read moreMoving to a new town we expected Honeybaked to be a bit of an ordeal like in Austin, TX. We haven't had one in a couple of years due to the It's Not worth the trouble factor. We were Thrilled with our visit! About 15 plus people in line, plus a police officer. I jokingly told my family to pray for me they refused to go in. They had at least 6 people working there! Pleasant people! Fast, knowledgeable people. Asked what we needed, retreived, viewed ham. Decided bigger. No Grumbles! 2nd was a winner. Paid, left. In about 10 minutes, probably less. They were Really well stocked Tuesday night before Thanksgiving! And I really appreciated how they opened the foil Just enough to see well, but away from the sneeze/cough zone etc. Purposefully. Yay! Our ham was exceptionally great too. Win win win! We'll be eating a lot more delicious...
Read moreThis place is always amazing! The food is always fresh! Really great place to grab a sandwich. The ham or turkey salad is great on a croissant with lettuce and tomato and either broccoli salad or potato salad as a side. They have other options too as well as dinner entrees and desserts. This place has always been my go to place for the Thanksgiving and Xmas ham you really can't find anything else like it. I hear the Turkey is really good too but haven't had a chance to try it. This place is never extremely busy so it's usually pretty fast to just drop in and grab a sandwich on your lunch break. There isn't a place to sit and eat but the car usually works for me! More people should make this their lunch spot because the food is...
