I left the restaurant with mixed feelings. I did not feel welcomed, but my food was amazing.
I ordered the blackened shrimp salad, but subbed salmon, added cranberries and avocado with Italian dressing. Salmon was cooked perfectly! Salad was great. Had vodka and soda to go with it! No problems on this side at all.
My problems came with service. Amelia B was my bartender. I'm not sure what the problem was because she was very energetic, conversational, and attentative to (what appeared to be) regular customers at the bar. This was my first time in this establishment. She offered me NOTHING. Not even a menu. I had to ask for everything I needed and wanted. When my glass was empty, she did not offer another drink, I had to ask for it, even though, I heard her offer other people 2nd, 3rd and 4th drinks. I put money in the jukebox and tried to break the ice by asking her what kind of music she likes, that didn't work. Still no conversation from her, she went right back her regulars, as if I was not a paying customer. I ate my entire meal with no napkins. I decided against asking for any because I felt like I was a bother at this point. I even had to tell her to take my card, because it did not appear that she was going to come cash me out after she brought my check (that I had to ask for). No dessert was offered, she never asked how was my food, did I need more dressing, was my salmon cooked well enough. NOTHING. Lastly, when she dropped my card back off to me, of course, she did not invite me back. Very poor service.
I'm not sure in what manner I was profiled, but Amelia showed no interest in taking care of me like her...
Read moreI would like to give the most positive review of this joint and in particular, to contrast with an earlier review, the highest praise for Amelia B., my bartender. I went to OPP a couple of weeks ago for the first time because a coworker recommended it; it's just a bar with good food (100% accurate by the way). Yes, it was clear that Amelia B. has regulars from the time I sat at the bar, but it was also clear that people come back specifically FOR her. Not only is she a skilled and attentive bar tender, but she was so personable and considerate. My friends and I felt like we had another member of our group there socializing with us. The food was excellent, the drinks were great, and her personality created a fun and lighthearted ambiance. Customers talked to her like they've known her for years, which is remarkable considering she told us she had only started working there this past October. She was so cool to us, and the fact that she is a teacher full-time makes her even cooler. As for those who claim to have had a negative experience with her, I can only assume someone mugged and drugged her in the parking lot, stole her name tag, and tried to pass as her with a lousy attitude for the night. My friends and I cannot wait to take a seat at the bar again for chicken and waffles and for Amelia's...
Read moreIf I could have given these morons a 0 star, I would have. This place is unprofessional and incompetent. I ordered a salad and requested that there be NO BACON on the salad. Instead, what I got was a salad full of pork. When we called about the salad the manager stated that “ he didn’t understand what the big deal was” as it was only bacon. Well for someone who does not eat pork, having it put on a salad when you clearly requested that it not be there is a big deal, especially when it makes you sick. I found his nonchalant attitude quite offensive. For people who suffer from food allergies and people who don’t eat it for religious reasons it’s a BIG DEAL.
To add insult to injury the idiot didn’t know how to process a refund. He explained to us that the only way he could give me a refund for my salad was to credit the whole transaction back to my card then rerun the card minus the cost of the salad. Not only can the not get an order right but they aren’t bright enough to process a refund.
