While our server was pretty great and didn't bat an eye at six people walking in at 8:30 at night, when the place was virtually empty, the whole place was filthy and disgusting. From the dirty tables to the horribly littered floors to the menus with hash browns stuck to them, it was just gross.
We were all coming from a professional meetup, we didn't know each other well and it was the first time we'd been out socially, so I'm sure no one wanted to be that person to say, "Uh, do we REALLY want to eat here?", so we just did. The good thing was that they used to go packs of utensils and to go cups for our drinks, but they still used regular plates. When the entire restaurant is this filthy, one can only imagine the plates and kitchen utensils are, as well. Only one person in our party used the restroom and she said it was also dirty and the soap was so low she had to take the lid off it and scoop it with her hand to get enough to wash. I couldn't wait to get to the car to use sanitizer and then get home and shower.
I've been to a lot of Waffle Houses in my life, and let's be honest, the expectation bar is already set fairly low, but this was the worst of the worst and I will never go...
Read moreMelvin is the greatest man alive. I asked for a waffle, and said please. He ventured to provide my order with such a great demeanor. I believe great food with bad service is an ailment to any business, but this Waffle House has great food and astounding service, which just boosts the food's flavor even more.
The view behind the counter is humble and kept up with at it's own pace, which is completely fine. No restaurant looks great behind the scenes, because... well... that's why it's behind the scenes. It's the base of operation that you don't want to see, you just want to ignore it. But Waffle House has a charm with it's waffle batter bits and dish washing pits in clear sight for all customers to gaze upon.
This is not a cinderblock through the window of a Waffle House that I'm writing, this is an understanding of the effort and technique that this business has kept up with for so long. Melvin is a prime example of someone who represents what I believe Waffle House stands for.
If this man doesn't get a raise, at least he gets a novel.
Thank you guys, for...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining here with my daughter and my grand daughter. the food was great but theway to my dismay. the3rd shift cook was using profanity and the restaurant was full. He was. Cursing at a team member harassing and degrading her in front of customers. i was shocked and the waitress stated this goes on regularly. I complained on the website and was mailed a gift certificate after speaking with someone. I then went back and nothing had changed. To me this is a hostile work environment. harassment and discrimination. i was really upset because i am a former employee of this company and solely disappointed.Had it been me I wouldhave contacted EEOC and filled a lawsuit. What I witnessed upon my return to done was devastating. So my point is how can you possibly have regard for your customers when you don't have any for your employees. Of you condone this type ofhostility in your place of business then it is safe to sa my family will not return to this location. To all my followers polar do the same and not take...
