Yard Cooked Dishes — Restaurant in Charlotte

Been coming here for years and have put numerous of people on here. Coworkers, friends, a lot of people. But after yesterday i won’t be returning. I wasn’t gone write a review but it rubbed me the wrong way. They have a star system which you can redeem rewards. I had 23 stars and went to get my free jerk salmon meal. I wasn’t able to do it on the app so i went up to order. The lady in the front, i forget her name but she’s always so kind and helpful when i come in. Anyway she had me log my number into the register to select my reward.

The register wouldn’t let her close the order out or something. So she goes to get the owner in the back he comes out and said i don’t have 23 stars because he checked last week and the register and the app isn’t linked together. Which I’m confused because it’s all registered under my number. Me and the lady are explaining to him what’s going on. I show him my phone and show the stars it says i have. He tells me again i don’t have 23 stars. I go to the star history and show him every time i gained a star. He doesn’t accept it so i change my mind and leave. I will never eat here again. Not good business especially when someone eats at your establishment 2+ every week.

I used the app TooGoodToGo to sample this restaurant’s food because I had just moved back to Charlotte. I ordered it and forgot to pick it up so I called when they closed and fortunately the owner Neville was still there and he offered to give me a plate the next day. Wonderful! I go there and I’m assuming his girl friend was at the counter. I asked for Neville to let him know I was there and she IMMEDIATELY said HE’S BUSY! lol. It threw me because I just wanted the food I came for. Her behavior was so inappropriate for a business because if you that worried about your man slipping out with a customer, you should close down. Neville is definitely a good looking man, but he got my money, so I need my goods! Anyway, I got my food which was absolutely AMAZING! I return to the store to tell them it was amazing and I was thankful because I hadn’t had good food in a long time and the same girlfriend was hurrying me out of the store. lol. I will NEVER PATRONIZE then again because of the pettiness of his insecure girlfriend and it’s unfortunate because the food was really good. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN THAT LOOKS LIKE HER MAN MAY TAKE NOTICE, don’t go here cause she gonna make you rethink giving them your money...

I've been trying to call this place since 6:54p and the phone was constantly busy. Finally got thru at 7:29p only to be promptly put on hold, by a female, (without even waiting for me to respond). As of typing this review at 7:58p I've been left on hold for 28 minutes while I can hear all their conversations and phone receiver being moved a few times but not once did she or anyone else for that matter ever came back to me. I really stayed on the line, while I was watching the TV, despite hearing on numerous occasions them 🐂💩 around. I had just one question, to see if they had any oxtail/mac & cheese still available. I've only been there one other time and had their brown stew chicken with rice but because they give the food in one big box and nothing is separated it's like I was having gravy soup. Finally, at the 36 minute mark she picked up the phone to dial out and thought she'd reached the person she dialed so whilst I'm saying hello, hello she's carrying on her conversation before I had a chance to inform her that I was the person she'd left on hold.
