Christian's Pizza — Restaurant in Charlottesville

I rarely leave reviews, but I had to leave one from earlier. (I only wish I had taken a few photos of the emptiest pizza place I have yet experienced)…I’ve been to Christian‘s Pizza in Richmond many times and it’s been very good. I myself co-own an Italian pizza restaurant in Richmond’s West End, So I know how important first impressions are, having grown up in New York and learning from the best. Earlier, I was in Charlottesville on business and figured I would pick something up and bring it back home since I live in the far West End of RVA. The reason I did not leave a review for the food is that I didn’t get any! I walked inside the restaurant, and there was absolutely nobody behind the counter or inside. I thought it was odd, so I decided to go wash my hands, and certainly there would be somebody when I came out. When I came out, there was still nobody in the entire place, and there were not even any pizzas on the shelves where they should’ve been. Absolutely nothing! No staff, No food! Nothing… it was not as if they were closed yet I came in nearly an hour before closing time. Therefore, I left without purchasing anything…. I would think that the owner would want to have more pride in his establishment, then to allow employees and management to be so sloppy! Like I said, the Christian‘s Pizza establishment in Richmond is phenomenal for a late night bite to eat. But the location in Charlottesville? Obviously needs a...

I ordered a large pizza, and after explaining what I wanted (after he clarified they have no form of beef in the store) the guy pushed a menu in my direction. I then saw breadsticks on the menu, and requested a half order of breadsticks. Little jerk behind the counter then informed me I could only order a WHOLE order of breadsticks, because he would have to use a whole thing of dough. He said they only sell half orders when people are ordering them. I replied if it's on the menu, they need to sell them or remove them from the menu. He said, "THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM." I replied, "It's about to be your problem," and he finally allowed me to buy what he claims to sell. While all this nonsense went on, my family discovered the outdoor seating was useless because their trash cans are at the edge of the deck, and they stunk. The only real reason to visit Christian's is that it is after 10pm, and all of the other places have closed. After 10pm Christians becomes a lifesaver for those who would rather not visit The White Spot at that time, or anyone who is looking for a late night quick bite. The only way that they fail in this capacity is that it tends to become rather busy, and getting your food at later hours may take a while. Great food for munchies, but the establishment is a little greasy, and it can take a few minutes to get your food. It is also worth mentioning that the servings are generous, but the food is not the cheapest. Sheetz would be a real contender if there weren't approximately the population of Luxembourg in Sheetz after 10pm...
