I ordered two special rolls, chirashi, miso soup, and the waygu trio skewers for take out. My wife and I were both there to order and pick up the food. They told us they had no spoons for the soup. We got back to our car and realized they only gave us one soy sauce 1/4 full. The rolls were loose, sloppy, tasteless, and fell apart. We had better at Kroger last week which is obviously pretty sad especially since only one other order was being worked on and they had just opened (there was no rush). The chirashi was fresh but had about half the average amount of fish. The waygu skewers were so overdone it was like chewing beef jerkey. I was so aggravated I went back for soy sauce so we could finish most of the food and double check on the spoon situation. They didn't seem to care until I mentioned the low quality of the rolls and found the manager (whom was very nice). She walked me to the restaurant downstairs and they gave me a to go spoon. She offered to refund the cost of the rolls and let me know the skewers were supposed to be overdone and tough like beef jerkey unless I requested otherwise. I've never in my life had tough and hard waygu so that hadn't occurred to me to even ask. I finally brought the spoon back so my wife could try her soup and it was inedible as well so that went in the trash. We drove an hour to get out of the tiny little town where we were staying thinking we would find better quality sushi. We could have saved ourselves the trip and had better in the strip mall up the road. Oh and when I went outside because I was so overheated while waiting (my wife stayed for our order) she was made to feel very uncomfortable by one of the male staff to the point she almost left the food. A few inappropriate comments were made even after he had helped us and I referred to her as my wife. She didn't feel comfortable going back just based on that interaction before we even tried our food.
To sum up: poor quality, lacking taste, bad customer service (until they found the manager both stars are for her- but at that point the food was cold), inappropriate sexual comments, a total waste of $75, and we ended up buying dinner on the way home. The best part was the...
Read moreI wanted to like Ten so much! Unfortunately, at the end of the night, it became just another restaurant that we can say we tried and probably wont ever go back to again.
The walk up to the 2nd floor is a candle lit flight of stairs. At this point, there becomes an interesting decision that must be made: one side of the restaurant is lit by a beautiful decor of old fashioned lightbulbs littered all over the wall, with high-back booths for privacy and a well positioned bar near the windows overlooking the Mall. The other side of the restaurant is a bunch of tables thrown together near the sushi bar, lit by "almost warehouse-like fluorescent light tubes".
It was date night and the reservation for 2 on OpenTable, I was hoping we'd be placed in the more "romantic" environment, but alas; we were seated near the sushi bar. After sitting in our seats for all of 3 minutes, we realized we needed to request another table if we wanted any sort of romantic vibe for the evening. After getting our seat moved to the other side of the restaurant, we quickly realized the next oddity at Ten; the other side is divided into 3 rows of tables. On the end rows are the high-back booths, but through the middle are a series of tables. The problems here arise in a couple ways. The first: the booths naturally provide some good acoustics for those sitting in the booths, but for those sitting at the tables in the middle row, you have to raise your voice quite a bit in order for your voice to actually reach the other side of the abnormally long table. The second issue is there isn't much space in the aisles. So as people pass you to leave or enter, they're bumping into the tables in the row. Not the most date friendly setting...
The food was quite good. We ordered Tiger Shrimp and Miso Soup to start, and 3 rolls of sushi (Tiger roll, Blue Crab roll, and the honey something roll). Prices were about average for "better than takeout" quality rolls. Service was also very good.
Overall, I'd say try it and see if your experience is different. But I personally PROBABLY won't...
Read moreFirst time wasn’t sure what To expect. Arrived 9:30pm, found the entrance door tucked into the right side nook of the building adjoin a downstairs restaurant. Up an extended flight of steps, greeted and quickly seated, requested sushi bar location. Spacious, lively music, mix of Jaz & crooners Like Sinatra. Place was busy, up beat social atmosphere, multiple tables seated with small parties and couples. Regular bar was located at opposite end from the sushi bar. Diverse and rather large selection of items, the drink menu was lengthy with a multitude of options. Staff was polite and attentive, sitting at the sushi bar allowed for an up close view of the exchange between front of the house and the back. The staff maintained a professional appearance with each other and the guests, even when having to inform that a selection was no longer available.
Yes might be difficult to believe but the meal was even better than it looks. My meal created by Robby. An intense flavorful experience.

Ending with a Spicy Toro roll chu toro, avo, pickled jalepeño, crunch, spicy sauces, tobiko
I usually order way to much food for one person and being offered a large menu selection I definitely ordered. An unexpected surprise, an additional sushi roll(spicy toro) was placed in front of me. The sushi bar guaranteeing I was not going to leave hungry. I did have a very large meal, never felt rushed, I did wonder what time they were closing but it was not an issue during my late dinner. Bill was $164. The bulk of the bill was the ordering of the Chefs choice and my personal input on Adding in $40tip total for one $204 meal experience. Far less than a dinner at Ruth Chris and much tastier meal experience. The flavor combinations were...
