Viera on Main — Restaurant in Chatham

My husband and I have been coming to The Cape for years and for the last few years we have made Viera on Main a regular stop for a cocktail, dinner or both. No matter the occasion or what we were craving, seafood or a sirloin, Viera on Main fit the bill. The food is absolutely delicious, and is always the best restaurant experience we have when visiting. So when my son decided to get married in The Cape, we picked Viera on Main as our rehearsal dinner venue. Alfred Gillette and his staff did an amazing job from start to finish. Even the smallest detail(s) were not overlooked, from the table linens, dinner menu with bride and groom’s names, to flowers on the table, everything was perfect! The food was incredible! We had the choice of several different appetizers, during the cocktail hour and then again during the Welcome Party. All were delicious and in abundance. The lobster sliders should not be missed, they could be a meal in itself. There were three full dinner courses, and the presentation was beautiful, and the courses were amazingly delicious. From crab cakes, to the clam chowder, wedge salad, sirloin, seafood, creme brûlée, or brownie sundae, every course was tastefully created. Also tastefully created was the selection of cocktails. From a large selection of beer and wine, to Viera’s own specialty cocktails like the salted caramel martini with a pretzel rim which was extremely popular and yummy. Had not been back to visit my family in Chatham in a few years so I was excited to find a raw oyster bar on July 4th, 2017, to try with my fiancee who had never been to Chatham. While the menu looked good, it was quite expensive - more expensive for oysters than anywhere else in Chatham ($3.25 per oyster). As well the service was lacking. While the waiter was friendly, they only asked to fill up our ice tea and water once even though the cups were empty most of the time we sat down. We ordered the poke appetizer. It was ok, although I've had better. There was not much tuna in the dish as you had to dig through the seaweed/scallion mix to find it. I then ordered the cobb salad with chicken and my fiancee ordered the battered fish. The fish was alright but nothing special. The garlic parmesan fries with it were good. The chicken on the salad was $8 extra. The chicken had a terrible texture and was very chewy. I asked others at my table to try it to verify and it was not even edible. I had the pieces on the side of the plate and at the end of our meal the waiter said I see you did not like the chicken and are eating his fries. I was not going to tell them about the chicken but since he asked I told him why I could not eat it and we thought that was important information for the kitchen to know. He did not do anything about it. It did not appear that he told the kitchen although we do not know. He did not remove the extra charge from the chicken from our bill. Would not recommend...

We were so grateful to Viera for our hosting our Rehearsal Dinner! The night was magical and that was because from the start of the process to the day of to the finish Viera truly committed themselves to ensuring we had everything we needed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their open and direct communication, their overall professionalism, and kindness. Alfred worked with us closely to make sure the day was special and that everything ran smoothly. We also greatly appreciated his suggestion of a small appetizer and cocktail hour to help get our guests mingling and settled before we began the plated meals. It was clear they were veterans!!

The atmosphere and food was superb! Our guests gushed to us about each course and we agreed! There were a wide array of options to choose from, and from the appetizers and cocktail course all the way through the dessert everything was worth writing home about! Juxtaposed with a beautiful maritime environment, including a real size ship’s wheel, we were transported, and it was an evening we know we will never forget.

All in all, Viera provided us with a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious food, and we’d be delighted to work with them again. We highly recommend them because we know they will make your day as special as ours. Thank...
