Chatham Penny Candy Store — Restaurant in Chatham

This store is very small, and does not really have enough room for more than 5 people at a time comfortably. The candy selection is mostly just a bunch of cheap candy with nothing really unique. Not everything has a clearly marked price, leaving you to guess what the final bill will be. They ring you up with a calculator, so you will have a hard time figuring out how much anything costs, or whether they made a mistake. When items did have a marked price, it was typically marked up at about 1.5 - 2 times the price I have seen at other candy stores on the cape.

Stopped in because I had purchased something next door and wanted some ice cream before leaving the area for the evening. There were three employees working behind the counter. One was eating ice cream and talking to the second, and the the third looked like he was completely stoned. There was no greeting or acknowledgment of me, a human person with money to spend, from any of them when I walked up to the counter and asked for some help. Literally, the young man who took my money was practically a zombie. There's plenty of other places to stop for a treat on Chatham - do yourself a favor and go to any of them, just don't go...
