After hearing about Chef Q for years, I finally decided to visit. All I can say is...I should have come earlier. As I approached the restaurant, I could see the smoke billowing from the grill out back. My mouth began to water. Since my family was undecided on what we wanted, we ordered the sampler dinner. This dinner came with three meats, two sides, and corn muffins. Enough food for four people. The ribs were perfectly kissed with smoke. The pulled pork was moist and full of flavor. The beef brisket was like none I've ever tasted...simply the best! Our sides were smoked mac and cheese and coleslaw. I think Chef Q's Grandma made the mac and cheese because it's definitely home made. I highly recommend everyone within a one day drive make a visit to Off the Grill by Chef Q! You'll be...

I had the absolute pleasure of trying this spot while visiting Tennessee, and I’ll be dreaming about it. The smoked turkey was insanely juicy and flavorful—it didn’t even need BBQ sauce (and I usually drown my meat in it). The brisket was fall-apart tender and packed with smoky goodness.

The greens might be the best I’ve ever had—no exaggeration. I don’t even like mac n cheese, but their smoked mac n cheese was incredible. The ranch beans were bold, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. And the sweet tea? The only one I’ve ever had that rivals my auntie’s, and that’s sacred territory.

I live in California, so sadly I can’t come back regularly—but I’d seriously consider moving for this food. That’s how good it was. An unforgettable meal and overall...

I really wanted to like this place after reading all the great reviews online, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. There’s no indoor seating, which is ok for the summer but we went there in January. My partner was really craving burnt ends so he ordered them. They came out quickly but once I tried a bite, I had to immediately spit it out. These were not at all burnt ends but merely pork riblet that had been cut into pieces. My partner took a couple of bites and then threw them into the trash. Customer service was sorely lacking. The man who took our order smiled at us but seemed irritated that we were there. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing or went during the wrong season but I would not recommend this...

We ordered via Door Dash and the order processed immediately. Even though this restaurant is in Hixson and I live in Harrison, the meal arrived hot about 40 minutes after ordering. The star of this show was the smoked Mac and cheese. It was very cheesy and had a wonderful smoked flavor: I’ve never had anything like it before. The broccoli salad was excellent with onions, sweet peppers, walnuts, carrots, and a delicate sauce. It is unusual for the sides to be unique and as outstanding as the meat, but this restaurant takes its sides seriously. The smoked turkey was heavenly. The meat portions were very generous and we have enough for a second meal today. The cost before tip and delivery fees was $30.

Cornbread, Mac n cheese, collard greens, and brisket. If they don't have these, it's not bbq. Chef Q has mastered every aspect of the perfect bbq eatery. The cornbread was perfectly baked with slightly crisp edges. The collard greens were wonderful, best I've gotten at a restaurant. The brisket was moist, smokey and just fell apart. But the best thing? The smoked Mac n cheese. This Mac n cheese is more than just elbow macaroni and Velveeta. Its as southern as you could possibly get (sorry Grandmama). The amount of flavor and dedication they put in their food is just beyond comprehension. By far the best I've gotten in the South. 100% recommend going even if it's out of your way.

We have been trying to find a solid BBQ place around Chatt, and this place did not disappoint. We got the Q-dog with a side of baked beans and pulled pork plate with fries and Mac. The hot dog was so good, it had coleslaw, bbq sauce and pulled pork on top with a juicy hot dog. The plate was really good as well, my only thing was we thought there would be bbq sauce on it but it came dry, but the smokeyness of the pork was so good it almost didn't need the bbq sauce. The guy who helped us was a real sweetheart as well. We will be back!
