Worst customer service; It may be that my expectations are just too high, after all my wife and I moved here from the Chicago area and was expecting the southern hospitality we have received everywhere else. We purchased a FlexSteel sofa several years ago and love their product but after time the cushions have lost life but a life time guarantee was part of the appeal of FlexSteel.
Unfortunately Stephanie was contacted an a bad day making my wife feel less of a person because she wanted to refurbish the cushions covered by the manufacturer. During a second conversation Stephanie stated we would need to provide the original sales receipt even though my wife informed her we had in hand the original shipping / sofa invoice from FlexSteel to retailer with our order information / confirmation. Trying to do as requested I contacted the original retailer who informed me I had all required of FlexSteel. I in turn phoned E F Brannon, I now had the joy of speaking with Stephanie who was once again caught on a bad day. She stated that she did not understand what information I had, that this was not told to her by my wife, But as a courtesy would contact FlexSteel to see if anything could be done.
My first issue is “Courtesy”; If I purchased a Ford in Chicago is it a courtesy to have the local dealership fix my car? Second is “if anything could be done”. Life time cushion guarantee; FlexSteel is still in business and I’m alive, what’s the question.
Resolution; Contacted original retailer who provided me with the phone number to FlexSteel customer service, true customer service. FlexSteel will cut new stuffing and will ship to store, I will have it shipped to the Chicago store as I would rather be inconvenienced, inconvenience my family as to dawn the doors of E F Bannon.

After the sofa arrived and having it for a couple of days we noticed a tear in the upholstery on one of the arms and a couple of tears on the back of the 2 of the 3 recliners(that we did not do)The store claimed that the sofa was a wall hugger. It’s not. After calling several times and leaving multiple messages we finally got a response from the person that sold it to us. She stated that someone would come out and assess the problem. They did; a couple of days later. We were told at that time that the problem would be corrected and there would be no charge to us. That was almost 2 months ago. We never heard anything. We called back again several times left messages and talked to employees there. We were told that someone would call us back. We’re still waiting for that call. Read moreOur store experience was good, perhaps very good. The sales woman was helpful but not pushy. She had a good knowledge of the product and procedure. We purchased 2 pretty big ticket items.
We are still waiting for the pieces to be delivered. Not a problem. We were told up front that they would be made to order and we are still in the time window for delivery as it was given. We will follow up after we receive and have lived with the pieces for a while.
Our only complaint was that our preferred method of payment was not a method that the store accepts. We hope they will add this method of payment in the future. Because of that we are unable to benefit from the rewards offered by the card company we prefer to use. Namely, no Skymiles and it would have been a bunch.
