Bad service & unsafe food (gave me diarrhea). I've eaten here twice now. The first time we waited over 2 hours after being told there was only a 1.5 hour wait. After finally being seated the waitress was very unfriendly and seemed annoyed to be taking our order. The food took a while to come out. When we left my son threw up his food. At the time we thought it was just an upset stomach, and didn't think much else of it. We received gift cards to the restaurant, so we figured we'd try it again, especially since 2 months had passed since our 1st visit opening week. This time we were told there was an hour wait, and ended up waiting an hour and a half. The hostesses blamed other customers whom they were waiting to leave their tables, some of which they said had been seated at their tables for 3 hours. This initially had me thinking those customers were extremely inconsiderate, but once we were finally seated - I saw why it took so long. Having a hungry & cranky 3-year old, my wife and I had already looked over the menu while waiting & knew what we wanted. After finally being seated the waitress took almost 10 minutes to greet us. Once she did, she initially seemed friendly and chatty. However, when we asked to order our food with our drinks, she seemed to get annoyed by this, and her attitude changed the rest of the meal. Despite ordering our food immediately upon our waitress greeting us, it still took us an hour and a half to finish our meal and pay. So I can see why other customers (who likely followed the routine ordering procedure of ordering drinks, then appetizers, then food, etc.) took much longer due to the slow service. We didn't initially get bread brought out to us as they had ran out. When my son needed a refill of his apple juice, the waitress said they didn't do free refills. While most other restaurants give free refills on kids' drinks, I normally wouldn't let it bother me too much. However, after waiting so long to be seated, waiting to be greeted by our waitress, running out of bread, and the slow service, I figured good customer service would dictate the last thing you'd want to do is nickel-&-dime a toddler for more apple juice, but maybe that's just me. When I went to the bathroom the toilet paper was strung out across the floor in the stall next to urine on the floor. There was also urine all over the toilet seat. Also no paper-towels in the bathroom - which still wouldn't be that big of a deal in itself, but with everything else going so "wonderfully," I found it irritating. Near the end of my meal the waitress simply stopped refilling my drink. Good thing I had a bottled water with me to wash down my cheesecake. Now I wish I could say that was the worst of it. However, once we arrived home, my wife and I became sick to our stomach. I got a case of severe diarrhea (which I'm still suffering from). The only thing my wife and I ate similar today was at the cheesecake factory. I have been to the bathroom 4 times thus far since being home. I've previously had the stomach flu & food poisoning before, but have never had such horrific diarrhea. Not trying to gross anyone out, but trying to get those reading to understand how sick the food made me. I'm not sure if my food was intentionally tampered with, or if they just have really poor hygienic practices at this location, but I can not bring myself to eat there again after this. I'll spare the details out of decency, but I promise you, this diarrhea is worse than anything you've likely experienced. The severity of it is the main reason I consider food tampering as a possibility. I wouldn't think ordering food early would provoke the waitress enough to mess with our food, but who knows? Based on other reviews and the openly unfriendly attitude of some of the staff, it seems it would be pointless to speak with the manager. It almost seems as if their mentality behind their form of "customer service" is "because you suck and we hate you," or "you should be so lucky...
Read moreThis is a bit lengthy but please read. I swear my experience was something out of a comedy or something you'd see on candid camera. We arrived at roughly 7:10pm to a 30 to 40 minute wait. 15 minutes later a bar table cleared so we took it. We waited for the table to be cleared and sat down. We waited. And waited. And waited. Finally a server arrived and introduced herself and then proceeded to ask for our orders to which we pointed out, could we see a menu first..... she then said oh wow you don't have menus that would help. She returned with them and took our drink order. She returned and we ordered an appetizer and a bit later we ordered our food. The appetizer arrives about 10 minutes later and is just set on our table by someone other than our server and they just walk away. No plates, silverware or napkins. We flag down the waitress and again it was shock and surprise. Oh wow yes you kind of need those I'll go get them. We wait.... She never returned! We attempt to flag down another waitress. My guest said Ma"am 3 times as she walked by and was ignored! People at tables turned and looked but the waitress did not. That same one returned to her table and we tried again. The second ma'am got her attention and we kindly asked for plates and silverware to which we got, it will be a minute I have to clean up a spill...... We waited and waited and waited. We finally ate the appetizer right from the serving plate because it was getting cold. A short while later we saw our server and flagged her down and again it was Oh my gosh you still need plates but at least you got your crab bites! Seriously!?!? She returns with 3 plates. No silverware. Leaves and then returns finally with silverware. After ordering 35 minutes ago the food arrives. The pasta is so dry we could barely swallow it and the mashed potatoes were cold. We had to flag someone down and ask for more sauce because the waitress never returned. I swear it was almost 10 minutes later the sauce finally arrived. By this time we've already eaten everything but the pasta and are ready for boxes. Waitress finally returns and we ask for 3 boxes and I tell her I have a bonus card to use. She leaves and returns and writes down my number. No boxes. She's gone for a while then returns to ask for my credit card. And still no boxes. I had to ask what the total came to in front of my guests which I was paying for because she didnt bring the check. She goes to the kiosk and returns and says your total was roughly $81 and with the $15 its seventy something and change. Still no bill!! Then she says can I get your credit card. Say what?!?! I gave her cash because something just felt off. Still no boxes. My guests decide to go to the counter to order dessert to go. They return and she's still not back with my change and receipt. Finally she's back with change but NO RECEIPT and no boxes! We ask again for boxes. Finally arrive 5 minutes later with boxes. We boxed up and got out of there WITHOUT a RECEIPT! First time I've ever been anywhere that asked for my credit card without a bill! Who does that? And I couldn't tell you what I paid to save my life because I never got a receipt or a check! I didn’t dare ask for one because we didnt want to be there a minute longer than we already were. So glad I had the cash. I will at least say, she was polite but clearly overwhelmed and possibly new to serving. And the crab bites were delicious but you only get 6 one bite balls for $12! Be prepared to pay a small fortune for small portions and Sit in the first come first serve bar area at your own risk and maybe smuggle In your own sauce because their pasta is DRY DRY DRY. It will be a while before I return if at all. The food and service are just not worth the prices paid. We dropped roughly $100 for 3 people and 2 ordered waters. At least that's what I hope given I NEVER SAW THE BILL OR A RECEIPT!!!! First time for everything I guess. So sad it happened here...
Read moreCheesecake Factory I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at The Cheesecake Factory located near Hamilton Place Mall. As a regular customer who consistently spends a considerable amount of money, I was taken aback by the subpar service I received. On this particular occasion, I visited the area because my mother had undergone surgery. I placed an order for cheeseburger egg rolls, which I considered to be a relatively simple dish. However, when I received my order, I was disappointed to find that the egg rolls were not prepared to my liking. Despite paying $16 for three small egg rolls, I found them to be burnt and dry. I promptly contacted the restaurant to request a remake. During my conversation with the manager, I was respectful and courteous. However, the manager interrupted me before I could fully explain the issues with my order. She stated that the egg rolls come with cheese and are not dry. Furthermore, she informed me that in order to have my food remade, I would need to bring the original order back to the restaurant. I found this response to be unusual, as I had intended to return the order anyway. I called the restaurant again in an attempt to speak with a different manager, but I was connected with the same individual. I expressed my concerns regarding her argumentative tone, and she proceeded to defend her behavior. I informed her that I would like to discuss the matter further in person. Upon my arrival, the manager inquired about my order, and I presented it to her. Before I could receive my remade order, she made a surprising comment, asking if I was the individual who had threatened to 'shoot up' the restaurant. I was taken aback by this accusation, as I had never made such a statement. The manager subsequently claimed that she had not personally heard the threat, but rather that someone had informed her of it. Moreover, she stated that the phone calls were not recorded. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from The Cheesecake Factory, and I would not recommend dining there. The management's inability to effectively address customer concerns and resolve issues is alarming. Furthermore, I find it disturbing that a manager would make false accusations against a customer. I would advise others to exercise caution when considering a visit to this establishment. The lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the management is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, my experience at The Cheesecake Factory fell far short of my expectations. If I could give ZERO STARS I...
