McFiler's — Restaurant in Chehalis

Overall, disappointed. We made a 7:30 pm reservation several days in advance. When we arrived, almost immediately we felt pressured to order and get moving. A DJ/concert event started at 8:00. We got our desserts to go (ordered in advance) and they were so dry as we didn’t get the rosemary infused maple syrup they were supposed to be served with, no water refills, had to ask twice for a soda. My husband asked about the fish and chips; how many pieces was he getting? The server told him 3 to 4 good size pieces. When his plate arrived, he only got 2 small pieces! We were out of there within 45 minutes!! Our bill for 4 people was over $200. Usually when you are paying $50 per person, it comes with better, less rushed service. The food was just average, not worth the price. Maybe the chef was also rushed to get us in and out? Maybe decide if you want to be a restaurant or music venue or maybe don’t let people book a dinner reservation a half hour before the “show” starts. The pictures of the food looked amazing and I was so hopeful but the rush to hurry up and get out made it tough to savor and enjoy. That’s my favorite part of eating; taking my time and savoring. Halloween night,called to make sure they were open,came in with my family around 9 pm.Walked in to an unwelcoming atmosphere, extremely dark, music was ridiculously loud,and the waitress seemed more than irritated we were there.So we sat ourselves,immediately we were told they were only serving fried food?? When I asked what that consisted of, she started speed reading me the appetizer list and said they were " slow " so that's all they're offering??? It's 9pm, they're open until 2am??!!!??? I get that it's "slow", but why would you cut everything else off the menu except your fried appitizers based off the fact that it's "slow"?? Also, when I called prior to coming in, I said I was coming from Centralia with my family to eat,why didn't the employee mention over the phone they were only serving appitizers???? (Pretty sure the female who I spoke to over the phone was the same person who I spoke to at the restaurant/bar/whatever) Would have saved me from wasting my time??!! Horrible first experience!! Our visit was on 1/29/2023. A little disappointed. It easily could have gotten a 5 star rating if a little effort was put forth. We expected it to be cool in the building because it's brick, but it was freezing. We never could take our coats off. It was one waitperson/bartender and one cook and several large tables of patrons. We ordered: Bacon/blue burger w/tots, AHAB and the Jagger plus wine, beer and a coke. The buns were burnt on both sandwiches, I don't mean dark. I mean burnt on the outside and inside. But the sandwiches themselves were good. The tots tasted like fish. Time to change out the oil. The AHAB was exactly what was ordered. I was brought half a glass of coke. When I asked for a refill I was brought another half glass of coke. But the beer was cold and the wine glass was full. The bartender was nice but super busy. Nice atmosphere.
