Stout Coffee House — Restaurant in Chehalis

Verdict: I will not be back and I would never recommend this coffee shop-too many other options. Lewis County Coffee Company gets my business from now on. Better coffee and much better service.

The Good: Well-designed, appointed, and clean store. Good location.

The Bad: Smarmy attitude from barista ("Trinity"). Coffee not prepared as ordered. Barista could not hear me due to her earbuds. I had to repeat my order and my questions. Meh coffee.

The Ugly: There was no one at the counter for the first 10 minutes of me being in the store! My coffee was not completed as ordered and when I asked for the manager's name and email, I was told "Look it up online." BTW, the store website does not have that information. Great work! In just a few minutes, you managed to lose my business, my family's business, and gave me a great story to tell at all the upcoming events and cookouts I will be attending...

While in Chehalis for work, I found myself in desperate need of caffeine. After looking at reviews for a few places, I decided to stop in to Stout Coffee House. I was greeted by Kim, who is one the most friendly and welcoming people I've ever met. We ended up chatting for a good 10 minutes before I remembered I was there for coffee! 🤷‍♂️😅

I ordered a blended drink 1/4 sweet like I do at my usual coffee spot back home. After Kim finished it up and handed it to me, I grabbed myself a straw and took that first sip. Absolute perfection in a cup! The espresso was rich and smooth, and the drink had just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. I will absolutely be stopping here anytime I find myself...

Very churchy spot. I went in and people were holding a large prayer circle right next to the counter. I felt pretty uncomfortable and asked if it was a religious coffee shop. The barista replied "yes, the owners", I said "thank you" and started to walk out. She followed it up with "God Bless" as I had my back turned. Nothing there expressed the less religious or right-leaning elements of current, dominating Christianity, so I'm sort of on the fence about how to leave this review, but I wanted to let people be aware.
