Last Tuesday, February 18, 2025 my wife and I ate at El Limon in Glenside, PA. As we approached the restaurant there was loud Spanish music playing outside, over an outdoor speaker, we entered the restaurant and the music inside was even louder, so I asked the young lady who worked there if she would please turn the music down, she had to ask me what I said, and I repeated my request, she then turned the music down. We ordered our food, which was delivered promptly, my wife had the 2 Fajita dish, of which her Tinga Chicken was barely warm, nowhere near hot, my chimichanga was fine. After we started to eat, the waitress turned on the TV, which was maybe 8 - 10 feet away from us, she had the sound up quite loud. A little while later, she and a male co-worker began talking/joking around so damn loudly that it was a HUGE annoyance to my wife and I. I'm just about 100% certain that the TV and the Very Loud talking/ joking around was retaliation for me asking to turn the music down when we arrived.
Not that this is the nicest restaurant in the world, but wherever people sit down and are served to dine, there should be at the very least, an enjoyable atmosphere to dine in, and the waitstaff should understand this, because, in the end it's the restaurant's patrons what decide if the waitstaff's tip should be. Therefore, the waitstaff should be mindful of the overall atmosphere that's set by them, and not think that the restaurant is there's and there's only, to act however they want. I have to think that maybe her father is the manager at the El Limon in Glenside, and that he's not on the premises to monitor how this location is run.
We got to Glenside to the Keswick Theater, to see Live Music. I can guarantee you that we will never eat at El Limon in Glenside ever again, there are too many other places to eat in Glenside for us to ever choose El Limon in...
Read moreWe got take out here the other night, shortly after we learned it was open. My wife had a grilled chicken burrito, and asked for the sour cream and the tomatillo on the side and it was provided exactly as she asked. I ordered carnitas alambre, and it will be hard to order anything else now, this was so very good: peppers, onions, and bacon, sauteed together, and then an overlay of rich pork carnitas. The green sauce and the red sauce that came with it were magnificent, the red sauce fiery, the green sauce robust.
Just so you know I can notice negative things: one of my tortillas was creased, so that the end, a sector, fell off of it. It was not otherwise harmed. 😁 And it still served as a wonderful vehicle for the carnitas alambre.
We are hoping to go through the rest of the menu, or at least I am, although it will be hard having had such a magnificent dish on...
Read moreI was on of the 2 black patrons at this establishment. I was ignored had to ask for water 3 times. After 20 minutes and everyone around me that arrived after me had drinks and appetizers. No apology nothing. Just I was busy, your black basically. So who cares! My food was good, but my friend didn't like hers. She told the waiter. He said he would have to charge her for both if she wanted something else. It was overcooked and didn't taste good. No one came to see if we we're good or needed anything else. We had one napkin the whole meal. I have never been somewhere they didn't want to rectify or care. Just said they would meet us half way by giving her 50% off her meal. She barely ate it, waiter was very IDGAF about it. Wouldn't recommend, if you aren't Caucasian....
