The Glenside Pub — Restaurant in Cheltenham Township

Horrible service. My boyfriend and I stopped in the other night for dinner as our power was out. We walked in and we're told to sit wherever we want then a gentleman asked if we had food menus while motioning to the ones he was holding to which we said "No not yet" he said okay and then walked away and never gave us menus. Our server didn't come to the table for quite awhile and barely stoped at our table to get orders. When she did she would quickly run off to another table before we could finish ordering. My bf ordered a beer first and I said I needed another minute. A good 15 minutes pass by and he still didn't get his beer. When he did I ordered my drink, by the time I got it his beer was nearly gone. We both got one drink and wanted to order food but the server never came back. We finished our drinks and waited awhile. But had to go find an employee to ask for the check. We wanted to get a few drinks each and a bunch of appetizers but we couldn't really do that if no one came near our table to take our order or even flag someone down and ask to place an order. They clearly only cared about their regulars who were getting what appeared to be amazing service and not...

I walked out a little unhappy. I am not a regular here so to me so I took this as no mistake. I sat at the bar and had a few drinks and a few appetizers. Pretty basic, I was fully aware of what I have ordered and what my bill should have been have been. The bill came back with an extra $10 tacked on. Yes this could have been an honest mistake but just the vibe that I got and everything I thought that the bartender purposely tacked on just trying to slide that in there like I would not have noticed. Once again I could be wrong but I personally and strongly feel this was done on purpose and made me think at how many people he might do this to throughout the day that might not notice. Oh Glenside Pub…I have been coming here for over a decade and have been growing more and more frustrated. They have amazing beers, but have basically eliminated vegetarian entrees. They offer a hummus plate and that’s pretty much it. Bring back the veggie burger, I beg of you! Also, please stop your servers from pushing meaty options on vegetarians! It’s super weird lol. I want to keep coming here, but at some point, I think I’ll have to call it quits. 🤷‍♀️

Updated to add: I received a response claiming that they haven’t had veggie burgers since 2019. Yeah, I know, that’s what I’m referring to! Also, I told the server I was vegetarian, so not looking for any mind reading oracle-style, thanks. I’m sad to say that their rude response will be the reason I will never come back.
