I came here on a Friday night with a reservation for 2 at 7:30pm. My fiancee and I were quickly seated, but sat at the closest table to the entrance. I didn't think it would be an issue since Brio has two sets of doors to help prevent cold air from coming in, but I'll talk about that later.
We were greeted pretty quickly by our waitress and ordered the carpaccio and loved it. The saltiness of the meat and capers followed by a sweet and tart mustard aioli was enjoyable. We also received bread and butter, and loved the crispy outside portion of the bread with the soft innards.
For our entrees, my fiancee ordered the lobster and shrimp fettuccine, I ordered the gorgonzola campanelle with grilled chicken. Her meal came out pretty quick, and she enjoyed it very much. Mine didn't come out for a while. Based on my receipt the server put the incorrect order in. The incorrect dish was brought to the table and refused since it wasn't correct. I probably would have eaten it anyway, since it was similar to what I ordered, but I thought the runner brought the food to the wrong table since she was being trained.
Anyway, my food came out at least 30 minutes later. My fiancee ate, and I lost my appetite. The server apologized and offered to comp us dessert, but I wasn't going to eat my dinner and then stick around for dessert, especially at a cold table.
I never asked for a manager, but the manager came over and seemed to know we had some issue, but didn't know the story. I explained my food came out 30 minutes late, and she offered to comp dessert. Again, no thank you. Then she offered to comp the entree too, which I accepted. To be honest, the entree should have been comped immediately and we should have been offered a dessert but whatever.
To make matters worse, and I'm going to go back to the front doors now, for some reason the hosts kept propping the doors open. Both! So for the majority of the time we sat in cold. It is 25* outside, why are they opening the doors!? As we were paying our bill, a table 2 tables further in than us complained about how cold it was, as we all looked at the doors propped open again. I went and shut them.
Oh and during all of this, we never were offered any refill on water, nor did the server come over to check in on us.
I would say it was nice that they comped the meal I ordered, but I feel that was the least they could have done. It didn't come out 5, 10, or even 15 minutes late, it was at least 30. It shouldn't have been been put on the bill at that point. I ended up taking 95% of it home and to be honest I don't think I want to eat it at this point. I would have rather paid for it and had dinner with my fiancee, instead we sat cold, had poor service, and weren't able to have dinner together.
We have one more gift card to use, and we will go to the Marlton Brio to see how that goes instead. I won't be back to this place. Management doesn't have a grip on the store and didn't seem very apologetic at all. I hate to say that since I manage a store that is customer facing also, but I also know that I would do everything in my power to help a customer and make...
Read moreI stopped today 9/18/22 after having done some shopping at the cherry hill mall and the stores around Brio. It was a beautiful day out nice temp and wanted to try someplace new. When I arrived at the restaurant wasn't busy at all. After waiting for the hostess for about 10 minutes, I chose to sit on the open-air patio. I gave her my drink order, which was the only thing promptly served. After another 10 to 15 minutes, the waitress came out and took my order. I ordered the bruschetta sampler, lobster and shrimp Alfredo, and a Pepsi. Another wait of about 20 minutes, the bruschetta was brought out. I took a pic of it to send to a friend so that is how I was aware of the hour and fifteen minute wait before I was able to stop another tables waiter to ask if he could get my server. After asking what I needed, he offered very sincere apologies and said he would get my food out right away. Another ten minutes and a cook brings my entree, I asked about my soda and was told it would be right out. The table behind me who came in after I already had ordered was already enjoying their entrees. Their awesome waiter stopped again to check on me, and I explained the missing drink and that I would like to speak to a manager.. The waiter whom I didn't get the name of was very polite, sincere, and honestly concerned that the service was so bad for me. He notified a manager who came out and discussed the issues. I explained that it was very embarrassing sitting there with no one other than the other tables waiter whom I stopped had bothered to check on me let alone bring my order or even ask if I needed a refill on the original drink a Margherita. He also apologized and said that they would cover the bill and stated I coukd order anything else on the house, however I informed him that the experience left me not wanting to eat and thanked him for his assistance but made sure he understood the only server who offered assistance was the other tables waiter. I work in customer service doing a commissioned job, and I am aware that businesses are short staff. I even stated I could have understood that had someone bothered to acknowledge me and notify me we are short staff or your server just left and another is taking her area... but instead, I sat waiting, feeling invisible. The only thing good besides the waiter and manager was the bruschetta, the Margherita, and the shrimp and lobster pasta both didn't rate. The lobster was overcooked pieces of mush... I wouldn't put it past the kitchen to have cooked lobsters that died before they were prepared, which is how the texture of the...
Read moreI used to love Brio in Cherry Hill, NJ.
But unfortunately my past 2 food pick-ups has been horrible.
1st one 3 weeks ago - I ordered 2 salads a Caesar salad for my daughter and a Chopped salad for me. Plus, The prices went up again. A salad was $6.99 increased to $8.99.
The manager Grace was kind enough to make the adjustment back to the $6.99 for each salad.
2nd visit 2 weeks ago - I took my daughters salad to her work and when I opened both the salads I was appalled. The 2 containers weren't even filled, 1/2 a container of dressing. So then I now had to go back to Brio told the front person that I wasn't happy with these salads and the lack of salad for the cost. They took them back and filled them. After I left again they barley put anymore romaine or chopped lettuce back in either salad. I wasn't going back for a 2nd time. So disappointing.
3rd visit this week on Tues 4/17/24 my son was home sick and they had his favorite mushroom soup. So I ordered 2 Mushroom soups, a chopped salad and chicken added to my salad.
When I got to the register to ring out, I about fell over she said it was $49.00. I said for what???????
A chopped salad from 2 weeks ago went form $8.99 to $10.99.
5 oz of chicken added to my salad went from $7.99 to now $8.99
2 16 oz cups of Mushroom soup, sit down for this one, they charged me $12.99 for each one x 2 = $25.98 for 32 oz of soup!!!
THAT'S INSANE!!!!!
Luckily as a single mom, I had a $20 off coupon that I was going to use to take both my kids to a family lunch but unfortunately I had to use it to pay for my order. so instead paid $29.00.
This will be the last time that I will be eating there for the lack of food per each serving and the...
