I wanted to love this restaurant. The first two take out orders gave me such high hopes. The food was amazing! We ordered Pho Dac Biet and Pho Tai. Delicious!
The 3rd order went drastically wrong when one of the entrées was completely unidentifiable. After picking our order for 2 and arriving home we realized that the one order wasn't correct. (We ordered Pad Ta Lay but received some gray sauce noodles with broccoli) When we brought it back the person at the register couldn't even tell us what the dish was that we received. That being said they corrected the order and gave us the correct item. We were mildly annoyed and disappointed since we had to drive back and forth for the correction.
So we gave the restaurant a 4th and final chance. Upon ordering over the phone we were told we cannot pay at pickup and must supply payment over the phone. Okay weird... first time this happened. Usually companies allow for payment at pickup due to security fraud that puts the restaurant at risk for handling over the phone payments. Made us a bit uncomfortable but okay we ordered our Pho. This order was not nearly as good as the first two orders. The sauces had changed and the food was not as flavorful. The final straw which has completely alienated me from this restaurant was the poor food safety. They threw the sauce packets in with the fresh bean sprouts. That's a hard no for me.... I work in the food industry and this is completely against any ServSafe requirements. You Do Not mix fresh vegetables with unsanitized sauce packets. (Picture provided)
Unfortunately the restaurant was closing by the time we got home so they didn't have the chance to fix their mistake. However, we still paid up front for food that was not prepared properly.
Stay safe out there everyone! And please be aware of food safety to keep yourself and family from...
Read moreWe went to Pho 9 many times from the time they opened until a few months ago, as the restaurant is near our business. We were happy to learn when they first opened that they were originally involved with Pho Xinh on the other side of Cherry Hill. That is why the menu was so familiar! Post pandemic, they are still using plasticware instead of plates. Sigh! The last time we went, our favorite dish, Vietnamese Carpaccio, had a very small portion of sad grey meat, not the rare beef we expected. We told them how the food just wasn't the same. Other dishes, which escape me now, were equally as bad. Clearly, the same people are not doing the cooking. We have moved on.....
Edited 8/29/2023 Realized after reading a blurb in the Courier Post that they had sold Pho 9 and now have Anise on Kings Highway in Cherry Hill. Two excellent lunches there! Outstanding beef...
Read moreNOPE. Overpriced, under flavored with a side of bad service. 60$ worth of bland cheap food. When you walk into the restaurant it's not inviting. The menu is four times the price it should be. Each table had exactly two napkins on it. We ordered the spring rolls and the summer spring rolls. Both seemed to be missing something like sauce and flavor. I ordered the stir fried rice and didn't like it and asked for something else. The manager was very nonchalant about taking my order again, and didn't seem to care. The waiter was unattentive and the man who was managing the restaurant didn't help us when asked for napkins or soda he actually went to the waiter and made the waiter get it and made us wait longer. When we received the billThe manager said I'm not going to charge you this time for the change in order but next time I will. It was a...
