Last night I was feeling hungry and was on on my way to try out Fevzi's Mediterranean Grill in Cherry Hill but decided to try out Whole Hog Cafe instead. I love BBQ food so I figured why not. In comparison to other BBQ restaurants in the area, I thought they were fairly decent. I spent around $17 for a 2 meat platter that came with 2 sides as well and cornbread. I picked sliced brisket (which was tender and juicy👍🏾) and ribs (they were very small portion size 👎🏾). For the sides, I picked mac and cheese and collard greens. The collard greens were very bland in flavor and tasted like they were cooked in chicken broth and nothing more. I had to doctor the collard greens to eat them and the mac and cheese was soupy and I ended up not eating them. If you are looking for baked mac and cheese, this is not the place to get them. Their mac and cheese was also bland. Now I love cornbread, but I was disappointed with their cornbread. It was mushy and a little gritty in texture. Overall, I was not pleased with the sides at all. The brisket was the winner for me personally. I also liked that they serve 6 different types of bbq sauces: classic mild, tangy & slight spicy, tangy & spicy, southern vinegar & spice, sweet & bold, and Rich mustard & vinegar. I tried all of the sauces except for sweet & bold because they ran out. My 2 faves were the tangy & slight spicy and tangy & spicy sauces. I give this place a 5 out of 10 and that was because of the brisket. I may return in the future to try other items such as their burnt ends (which was sold out yesterday) and other sides. This place is just ok, nothing to write home about. I have had way better BBQ food in the...

I had the chopped brisket platter, mac and cheese, potato salad with corn bread. It was reasonably priced with plenty of food. The brisket was great combined with 6 different sauces you can choose from. I recommend #3 bold and spicy and #4 tangy vinegar. The mac and cheese was good with the right portion of pasta to cheese. The potato salad was so cold and bland so I would opt for something else like the french fries. Unfortunately, the corn bread was very dry. When I went to pick it up, it crumbled in my hand. There was also an up charge of $1 so it definitely not worth it. While we were eating we noticed a fly buzzing around us but I shrugged it off because it does happen. I wanted to enjoy my brisket and sweet tea.

However, this was some foreshadowing because when we went to discard our tray of food, the trash can area had a swarm of flies around it. This means they don’t clean the trash bins daily. I hate to imagine what the back kitchen is like after closing and nighttime. If I saw this before I ordered, I would have left immediately.

I also worry about ordering catering if the front room is dirty and unkept. This is totally unacceptable and avoidable. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe the Saturday closing shift rushed out without cleaning the restaraunt properly. However with the amount of flies, it just wasn’t a one night problem.

With all things considered, I would not come back to eat here. I grew up in the south and love my bbq and sweet tea. However, the cleanliness was a deal breaker even though the brisket...

First time there was very excited that I found this location. Got the combo platter with beef brisket and pulled-pork my sides were pork and beans and green beans. I brisket came out cold so did my son's brisket came out cold. Pork was fine, beans were okay, chopped brisket would be great in these, I wind up adding some barbecue sauce to it to make them taste better. Green beans could have used some chopped brisket in it. The cornbread and sweet tea was good. They have 6 barbecue sauces to choose from. First one is an under average barbecue sauce mild. Second one slightly spicier average barbecue sauce. Third one's a little bit spicier just okay. Fourth one is a North Carolina vinegar sauce pretty on the point, good for the pork or the chicken. This 5th one reminded me of kinder mild BBQ sauce just a little bit not as spicy. The six one is a South Carolina mustard sauce on point. Place the second order to go and the staff really messed up the order so much so that it had to be two separate orders. I was surprised that they had already made up small baggies of sauce to go which was convenient. We did get the burnt ends that were tasty but much more fatty than it should have been....

Visited here today, we were really excited because of all the good reviews an awards they won. We had the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, burnt ends, ribs and sides such as corn bread Mac and cheese french fries and baked beans and baked potatoes. I’ll start off with the meats. The burnt ends were okay, the ribs were not the best, the pulled chicken was good, the pulled pork was okay, brisket was dry. Not as great as we expected it to be. The Mac and cheese was not good at all had no flavor kind of tasted like watery noodles. The corn bread my husband spit out, the baked beans were decent, French fries were good and the baked potatoes were just cold and dry. There soda was good tho. So with that being said I probably won’t be returning I will say that the staff was great very friendly very helpful and very kind. It’s rare to see hard working people with friendly faces anymore these guys were very kind. So that’s why I gave the three stars for there service. Also the sauces were good. Maybe it was just an off day for them idk good luck guys
