I was part of a party of 13 this weekend that visited this location. Due to our party size the GM asked if we had to be separated to be seated would it be OK, the person said yes and we waited.
When we were being seated the host said that they will have to seat us separately 5 in a booth and 8 at a table. Granted we agreed if it was NECESSARY, but when there was AN EMPTY TABLE DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE LARGER TABLE, it was not necessary. The choice to break up our party wasn't due to efficiency, it was out of POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS and LAZY HOST STAFF. I asked the host if they are serious about seating us like this with the adjacent table open. The host said "its my managers call, you have to go speak to them", so now your job is to point fingers and bring me my menu... very nice. The group I was with didn't want to press since it was clear the restaurant didn't care about our comfort, just accommodating themselves. It was a depressing and mediocre start to an experience that made sure you only use those two words every time you think of the place.
The waitress was kind and was pleasant. Two issues though, One - when we were asked if we wanted onions/peppers to our potatoes, the server didn't mention it added almost 20% to the final charge of the dish. Oh and for all the convenience of separating the party, they put in our order together and the kitchen forgot one persons order, so they had to wait additional 10 minutes for their food after everyone else had been served.
Food quality made most of us yearn for Waffle house... potatoes were undercooked, omelets that had so little meat it might as well been vegan... after a while you just had to laugh
In a nutshell... NJ is known for its great diners and finding one should be easy enough when you do yourself a favor and drive...
Read moreMy first time eating there with family members and we enjoyed our breakfast very much. We each had the Tri- Fecta with the Belgian Waffle. I chose egg whites and the savory chicken sausage patty and the other's had the bacon and scrambled eggs. I don't normally eat any type of sausage but the description sounded good so I gave it a go and it was actually very good. The eggs were cooked just right and the waffle was delicious, warm(could have been warmer to melt the small scoop of butter), a light crisp to it but was light not heavy. They also served it with a small tin of warm cherry compote that was delicious and a good pairing for the waffle. They serve the Syrup warm and it also was very good ( l usually bring my own small maple syrup but I didn't need to theirs was a thumbs up.) I ordered the Morning Meditation drink and wow what a nice morning juice and it was presented nicely. My nephew ordered the Blue Booster juice and after sipping his mom's Morning Meditation he said he liked the MM better. Now the only downside was the initial waiting for a server to come to the table. It turns out management made a phopa in telling some staff to stay home because of the weather thinking folks would stay home. NOT. People like breakfast and they came and they were short wait staffed and bus staff so the three wait staff and the manager were doing everything but cooking (thankfully). Hats off to the cooks and the nice server that explained why.👌 We definitely will return to try some of the other nice looking menu items for breakfast and lunch. Oh and the decor was nice with list of natural bright light coming through all the windows and when the weather warms up there are a few tables on the front patio to enjoy. 😊🌻...
Read moreHad a small girls brunch this morning at First Watch in Cherry Hill. We planned to meet at 10:30 am on a Saturday and we were able to get a table right away.
We ordered coffee which was served in a carafe and one of us ordered hot tea which came as a tea bag and a carafe of hot water.
With the serving sizes being so large, the 3 of us decided to order 3 separate meals to be shared amongst the table. The avocado toast was sold out, so my gf got an egg white veggie omelet, and we also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and the Farmhouse breakfast skillet.
Everything was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh! The lemon ricotta pancakes included 2 large multi grain pancakes with fresh strawberries and a large scoop of lemon ricotta on top. We couldn't even finish this dish between the 3 of us.
The Farmhouse Breakfast skillet was served with seasoned breakfast potatoes, with melted monterey jack cheese, fresh grilled onions, roasted tomatoes, scrambled eggs, fresh bacon pieces and a side of fruit and thick buttered multi grain toast.
The server was nice, attentive, and available whenever we needed anything. As an added bonus I was also able to ask for oat milk for my coffee. I've had First Watch in other states and have to share that the Kale juice is my go to green juice, in fact all of their fresh juices are the best I've ever had.
Around 11:30 am, there was a line out the door, and it began to get quite busy and incredibly noisy. If you are wanting to enjoy conversation with your guest I highly recommend visiting before 11 am!
Overal, we had a...
