Five Guys — Restaurant in Chesapeake

Three strikes and this location is out. The past three times i have visited this location it has just been a terrible experience.

The service at this location is on par with a Walmart Supercenter. Its sad really. All i can think is that this location is not profitable and the franchisee no longer cares.

I arrived at 820 PM. The location closes at 10PM. When i walked in one employee was putting up chairs and sweeping the floor, one was in the back at the deep sink, another was counting the tip jar, and the last appeared to trying to close the register. They had a Harmon Kardon Bluetooth speaker and were blasting music.

Rather than I dont know...turn down the music apologize for how unprofessional they were acting and greeting their customers, they didnt even make eye contact and rather continued doing what they were doing. I suppose they were hoping we would get the hint that we were bothering them.

I had to tell them my order because they wouldnt ask, and then they said nothing and just started on my order. They could tell we were annoyed and when we went to leave they shouted a taunting "Have a great night!"

I say its a shame because 5 guys isnt cheap. If they think they can continue to treat their customers like this ill just save my money and go to one of their many lower priced competitors. Its a shame really, i used to...

It's been quite a while since I've been here however a recent stop was exceptionally good. I had a late lunch on this particular day, it was after 3pm and other than the staff and one or two others I pretty much had this place to myself.

I ordered a regular Bacon Cheeseburger, which is that double patty monstrosity, along with fries and a drink. They have those cool Coke machines there were you can make your own drink, so I made an Orange Coke.

After a short wait my meal was ready and they called my name. As usual it comes in a brown bag with an extra scoop of fries on top. I laid the bag down and ripped it up the center and pulled out my burger. Upon opening it was then that I recalled "regular" here means 2 patties on the burger and "small" means one patty. Oh well, I'll be skipping dinner tonight. The burger was delicious, it was juicy and well dressed with pickles, mustard, tomato, cheese and BACON! That burgers time on earth was short, but eventful. The fries were also good. I like them plain with just a little salt.

After finishing I threw out my trash and I refilled my soda and as I was walking out the door someone thanked me for coming in. Excellent...

Arrived via doordash, I ordered 2 chocolate milkshakes, 1 with extra chocolate, 1 regular......the extra arrived almost black in color, tasted exactly like hershey syrup, was completely undrinkable and had an unpleasant texture due to the drinks sitting for so long. The other had the same unpleasant texture/taste from sitting out too long. Now I'm aware that it could be the dashers fault as it took well over 1.5 hours for the order to arrive. BUT putting such a ridiculous amount of chocolate into shakes to where it is literally like drinking hershey syrup straight from the bottle, is COMPLETELY on 5 guys, AND they shouldve waited until the dasher arrived to make the shakes or stored them properly while waiting, to prevent them from curdling. My guess is a disgruntled employee decided my 2 milkshakes were just the straws that broke the camel's back on a very busy day. This was my 2nd time trying 5 guys and they...
