It's a very small little place but that isn't a reason to pass it up. We normally go to one of the places with boba tea, but we had just come out of some testing and I was STARVING. We opted for the closer option and wasn't disappointed.
Staff asked if we needed help right as we walked in being they use a screen kiosk to order. While we are both comfortable, it was just noted that he thought to ask in the first place. As someone with anxiety, my first kiosk ordering was actually really intimidating so this was a thoughtful gesture for those that DO need an explanation.
Both bowls were biodegradable and came with a lid underneath. It's a personal silly thing, but I hate asking for a box or a lid if I want to take anything home. So this was great... even if I didn't actually need it in the end.
Chopsticks and fork, just another one of those little things.
Dish was presented nicely (as we can see, I wanted to eat more than I thought to take a picture before hand) and the amount of sauce was perfect.
I had a create your own bowl so there was yellowfin, salmon, and ahi tuna on a bed of rice with seaweed salad, cucumber, nori, crab meat, eel sauce and spicy mayo.
They also had fruit tea. I got the orange and passion fruit. It was light and refreshing.
Just as a heads up, there was some discrepancy between the website and what was available to order. I'm sure some of that is with fresh ingredients it's often difficult to keep up exactly with a website like that. That's more of a issue with the nature of website and app integration in general rather than something I'd be mad at them...
Read morePretty Darn good. I have been looking high and low for the best POKE place. I used to be a regular at 757POKE but after poke99 showed up and introduced me to fresh mango....I switched over, but the only thing that sucked about Poke99 was the portion sizes were small, and the main dude there was kinda of a jerk. Walking into POKETASTSIC it was super clean and inviting. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. There was a ton of people there, but no major line to wait it. The had many of the same choices that Poke99 had so that was perfect, but the base size they gave you was much better!!!! I never understood why 99 was so shisty with the rice....it's super cheap to make!!!! Very awesome, experience I will be back!!!! The only two things that i deducted from my experience were the cucumber wasn't pickled and i assumed it was so i took a huge bite to find out it was just raw cucumber.....YUCK...especially when you are not expecting it. Lastly, the sauce I picked. I think the guy I had was new so when I asked for the house sauce, he just put eel sauce. I then asked for other sauces because I knew I would need more than that. I am assuming their house is a mixture of sauces so I will try again, when I come back.
Long story short.....this place is bomb, and my new fav place after one visit!!!!!
Edit: After coming here for over a few weeks now, I can't get enough. And now that I know how to work the sauce portion it is great!
I still wish they had pickled cucumber, but def won't keep me from...
Read moreUPDATE: I think the COVID-19 situation is starting to take a toll on this place. I went last night and was a bit bothered by the service. Since the COVID lockdowns, Poketastic has been doing curbside pick up. In the past, I would order online, get an estimated ready time, and when I arrived, someone would come out to confirm what order was being picked up then bring out the order. Maybe that process has changed. Last night I ordered in advance. My ready time (as received in an email) was 6:07 PM. I got there at 6:15 PM (some of my order is cooked so it always takes longer). At 6:27 PM, no one had come out to check who was there to pickup orders. Finally a lady got out of her car and went and knocked on the locked door. They gave her her order then went back inside. I ended up doing the same (as did two other people behind me). If the process has changed, let us know. No more curbside - pickup only. On a positive note, the food was...
