Came here for two of my triplets college graduation dinner tonight. This was my 1st time here at this restaurant (that used 2 be the home of Logans Road House, then quite a few other fly by night restaurants). It wasn't packed, when we arrived. Probably 7 to 12 other tables with guests. But their seem to be only 1 waitress with a few "runners" for all the same table. Quite a few times during our dinner some of our stuff was missing, or lost, or miss placed (on another table, we were told) so I got up to help assist to find and help locate, ask or reorder. Plus to see about getting refills, check on one of the triplets deserts when they both ordered the same desert at the same time, yet only 1 came for 15 plus minutes, or ordering something else or finding what we did originally order like the fried calamari, it almost never showed up we were half way through our meal & when it did. My daughter had ordered it in the beginning when we arrived. We checked on it as the sushi arrived, nothing... So I got up 2 or 3 times. Finally they brought 2 out, & charged us for both, never apologizing. Better yet, the calamari only had 4 small pieces in it. We ordered the Crab Meat Cheese Wonton, they came with 3. Yet if you order them to go, off the menu rather than (all you can eat) where you get only 3 for $18.00 per person plus how ever much they charge for the wantons for the 3, you'll save yourself a ton!!! It's absolutely crazy insane their ripoff prices. Due to not ever have eaten there, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't eat $18.00 worth of food. I have 2 pieces of sushi. Two individual pieces. Yet was charged $18.00 plus 18% tip!!! The fact they made us tip 18% because our party was "6" people is crazy. We had 2 separate tickets. So a party of 4. Plus a party of 2. The service was less than. Our orders were messed up, missing, slow, misplaced, lost & again I was doing a majority of the running. Would I eat there again?... NO WAY! Would I recommend them?.... NO WAY!.. Is it a hugh...
Read moreThe food was okay and most of the food came out nice and hot. Very friendly service and they brought the food out pretty quickly. While I was eating one of my sushi rolls(nothing raw on any of my food) something felt off to me about it but I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. I did not want to waste my food so I forced myself to eat it. Again, the flavor wasn't off, otherwise I wouldn't have eaten it and would have complained. The owner came to our table and gave our 3 year old daughter a very pretty necklace because he said she was so pretty. The chicken tempura sushi was really good and I am happy they had soy paper to substitute for the seaweed. They do charge a dollar extra for each time you order with the soy paper which I think is a bit much considering it's already almost $30 per adult. After all of this I wasn't feeling great so I went out to wait in the car. The next evening I got really sick. Started throwing up and couldn't keep any liquid down and couldn't get enough water in on my own. I am the type of person who seeks medical attention only if necessary and not for just any little thing. I was genuinely so dehydrated I could barely move. I have never called 911 before. I told my fiance to call 911 and that I needed an IV to get hydrated. They came and took me to the hospital. Got hooked to an IV and rehydrated and was sent home with a prescription for the nausea. My stomach was a mess and now three days later I am still hurting...painful stomach cramps, nausea, and putting any food in my stomach causes it to hurt even worse. I will never eat there again. I've had food poisoning before and I know what it feels like and this is definitely...
Read moreBased on other reviews, I don't know what happened - maybe we just got their back-of-the-house B-team? Atmosphere wasn't bad per se, but felt a bit confused - was a very American Sports Bar vibe as opposed to japanese restaurant, but it was clean and comfortable nevertheless.
The food is where they fell well short of expectation. The gyoza wasn't bad - the sauce was good, but the dumplings themselves were relatively bland, but the sushi.... The sushi was offensively bad. The toppings were generous, but disproportionate to the fillings, no balance whatsoever - on the Hawai'i roll I tasted nothing but the spicy crab topping and struggled to even see any mango, avacado, or cucumber filling; which seemed to be the common theme. The Yummy Roll was generously topped with avacado and white tuna, but I struggled to even see the imitation crab, or mango (let alone taste them); and the Valentine Roll had plenty of spicy crab topping but practically no imitation crab, mango, or cucumber inside (mercifully - the sweet chili sauce it was topped with was delicious).
The one actual positive thing I can say about our experience was the service. Kyana was was brilliant - attentive without being overbearing, informative, fast, and accurate.
Seeing as the owner pays attention to these reviews, I do hope you find this as it is meant to be - constructive, and not as pointless whining. Leaving negative reviews is not a regular occurrence for me, and based on other reviews I'm willing to bet that my experience today was an exception, not the norm. I just hope you can find what caused such a drop in the quality...
