POOR SERVICE until Manager Megan saved the day after a horrible experience with, let's call him Joe. There was no line. Joe watched me approach 3 steps in front of him (to place to go order). He turned away from me, looked at papers. Made me stand silently for 7-10 secs without greeting me. Can u say ackward? Lol. Finally put down papers then asked how he could help me (parphrasing). I called him on his rudeness & asked what was so important that he ignored me for at least 7 seconds as i approached. He said he was looking at the work schedule. I said well u can help by giving me an apology. He stared me down. . . . .The literal cold shoulder when he turned as i approached, the wait time to be scknowledged, the mad-dog stare down - all are indicative of power-tripping. POWER. Seen this type and often this personality type ends up purposely costing companies hundreds of thousands or a million easily in employee harrassment, hostile workplace, and/or customer discrimination lawsuits. After 14 yrs of loyalty to this Chester location, i pray the males in upper mangement do not wait until disaster happens before addressing such an arrogant, narcissistic acting man. WE , women FEEL, more importantly SEE THE SIGNS - will you? Usually, as cops kept dismissing Nicole's fear of OJ Simpson, males ignore the fact that how he treats YOU (a man) is not how he treats women. Bullies pretend to be innocent, all the while staring down their next victim behind the backs of those in authority. Wel, i felt his aggression. He is purposely threatening (that stare down) and creepy towards females only i suppose . . .I am calling upon my criminal justice case experience, psychology/MH (mental health) training & good ol' fashion older woman's intuition asking you to consider the possible ramifications of retaining an employee who does not reflect the character expected of Cracker Barrel employees. If he finds a fun game to passive-aggressively cost this store millions $$, remember i told you so. FOOD: fried catfish was cooked to "perfection". Biscuits were fresh and hot w/ Blackberry jam as requestes. Unfortunately maccaroni & cheese was soupy - did not attempt to eat. I left feeling heard by Megan. Superb active listening skills and overall people skills. it's just tough knowing i may have to face the disrespectdul one again during my next visit. My rating will change assuming...
Read moreWithin the past week I had just been sharing with my colleagues that I will still eat at Cracker Barrel’s because I had worked there and after seeing behind the scenes I know that it is a trustworthy place to eat! Although because I worked there for two years, I also know the accountability that was taught by my managers and the expectations for service, hospitality, and cleanliness. Therefore I was recently disappointed by my experience eating here. The host greeting was friendly enough but she led us to a table where the seats (yes, multiple) weren’t cleaned from food scraps. We asked to be seated elsewhere where I noticed food scraps on most of the chairs in the section and the floor was very dirty; and this was 730am on a Sunday… Our asking to be seated elsewhere due to it not being clean was overheard and acknowledged by a trainer (red apron), but nothing was done. I brushed a seat clean myself to sit. Our server was friendly, however she placed the wrong order for my son when the ordering was clear. I also believe she could’ve been more proactive to explain the menu, when my wife ordered only egg whites and fruit but received a full meal with gravy and biscuits too. My hash brown casserole wasn’t warm, but the rest of the food was fine except the sausage patties were dry. There was no doily placed under the decaf to inform servers and we weren’t offered a refill during our meal. My last hope was the cashier, as I know they at least used to be trained to inquire how ones meal was. However, she never asked how my meal was and I didn’t offer, hence my inclination to write this review. I know they should do better if they are doing the job that Cracker Barrel asks them to do. The host checks before seating guests, and holds bussers or servers accountable. The more experienced staff keep a broader eye across the dining room and assist or direct. The closers need to triple check that the dining room is ready for the next day. But all of it ultimately falls on management, to set the bar, the tone, and the atmosphere. This location can do better. - Sincerely, A...
Read moreMy first time registering and using the Cracker Barrel On-Line Ordering App. Yet, very familiar with on-line ordering and using apps. I ordered 2/18/2024 for a 10:30 am pickup; Order Number: 24783853330513921. I ordered the Fried Chicken Meal, with a Meatloaf/Mac and Cheese add-on, a Breakfast (with bacon, sausage, and sugar-cured ham), and some Barrel Bites. I arrived at the restaurant parking in Spot 1 at 10:30 am. I grabbed my phone to look for the text or email to put in the spot I was parked in so they could bring out my food. Well, there was no link or email, and after about 10 minutes of trying to figure this out and reading the sign at the to-go, "Let us know you are here by indicating the spot you are in." Instead, I go into the restaurant and give them my name, and they hand me a bag with food in it. I go to my car and check it only to determine there is no fried chicken dinner, but there is a meatloaf, barrel bites, and breakfast. I checked the receipt and saw that all is checked off except the fried chicken, which has a note and is unavailable now. I return to the restaurant, and the lady goes to the kitchen to check, only to return and say fried chicken will be available at 1100 am. You can wait 20+ minutes for it, or we can refund you. I elected to take the refund and went back to my car. Something told me to check my breakfast. I'm glad I did, only to determine there is no sausage or sugar-cured ham, but only bacon. I was not in the mood to return to the restaurant and get back in line to dispute a piece of sausage and ham; they just cannot get this right. Therefore, I left, went to Popeyes to get some chicken, and then went back home with not the best online experience with Cracker Barrel. Whoever is doing the meals for to-go should pick each order like it is their own and communicate with the staff to ensure customer knows if something is not available. Put some heart in your work and not just go through the motions. The bag was handed to me like all was complete and as ordered -- Not Close! ...
