Well we took the children today(4-09-15) to skateland and they was looking forward to it. It's spring break , we assumed it would have a lot of children and they did. However when you have two daycares attending and it's open to the public there should be some kind of floor montering. However there was not. There was bigger kids on the floor speed skating with a whole bunch of little kids. I told the lady that works there and she said she would handle it. They didn't stop. So I finally told them they need to stop before they knock one of my kids down and I will not be happy. One of the boys then knocked over my nephew so I went and told the lady if he does it again I'm going to be hot. She stated no need for that because then we will have to ask you to leave. I thought about it no need to ask me to leave , we are leaving anyway. What she should of done the first time was come from behind the counter and talk to the kids about it. She waits to we are leaving to come and talk to us about it. We skated there for years, since I was little and I remember being told to leave for the same thing. However because those kids are regulars they get special treatment. That's not the way to run a business. People need to understand we don't have to take our children to that skateland. Skate away is another place just a little further away. They can also skate at parks for free. I was real tempted to ask for my money back. But I thought about it that would be the last money I spend at that skateland. I work retail and I understand if you don't have patients then you should not be out in the public. When you make it known three times and nothing is done about it , then the situation more then likely will not...
Read moreEdit for response: this was March 26th, last night.
When I first came in, a child & lady who was deaf/hard of hearing but had hearing aids was in front of us - she didnât seem to be able to speak back. The lady in the ticket window seemed very rude to her as she kept assuming 2 skaters. The customer would hold 1 finger up and the lady would wait a moment as the customer searched for her card. The woman again said âSO 2 SKATERS TONIGHT?â Then the customer, again, held up 1 finger. The woman asked, again, before then clicking the 1 finger held up again while holding her card that she only had one skater (the child). The customer didnât know how to use the card reader either and seemed annoyed with that, and with a rude tone kept telling her where her card at. Instead of growing super frustrated, she should have offered a more friendly tone or ask for clarification if she was confused what the customer meant đ you couldnât see her hearing aids well but it doesnât always mean people are being rude/ignoring you! Some people cannot converse in return! It was a disappointing interaction to come in and see. Also getting the skates the older lady wouldnât accept me telling her what my size was in menâs - she literally told me ânoâ when I said a size 7 in menâs. She waited for me to say a 9 âprobablyâ in womenâs with the response of âthere you go!â. If you can figure a menâs skate size when a masculine male says a size, you can figure it out if someone else who is not super masculine does too. Overall, some of the people need customer service lessons here and doesnât make a very welcoming environment imo. Wonât...
Read moreYikes! I had a birthday party for my 10yr old and I thought it was going to be in a private room, nope. They had 4 tables pushed into a very tight corner with a bunch of junk pushed into another corner. No way to decorate for your childâs party, no distancing, no real atmosphere at all. The price is okay but they actually charged me for grandparents to come in, who are elderly and barely can walk let alone skate. The music was terrible, Iâm not sure it was even a DJ. The bathroom had no soup, or paper towels to wash your hands, and 2 out of the 3 doors in that bathroom didnât lock at all. Whatâs weird is they actually closed this location stating renovations was happening. I see no updates (maybe the actual skate floor) Then when we walked in the lady behind the window was rude to my sister saying she was inappropriately dressed! She had on a workout outfit from Fabletics. We are grown adults, a dress code is ridiculous and it states that no where on the website. You can clearly tell this is a family owned business by people who do not look like their audience. I wouldnât suggest anyone go to this skate rink unless you want a subpar at best experience. I spent $189 for a party of 6 kids, 2 take and bake pizzas they bought at Sams Club and 2 pictures of lemonade. While being told I couldnât bring in my coffee (which they donât sell) and my sister was inappropriate, oh and my husband had to remove his hat! A 40yr old man had to remove his hat to skate! There are not a lot of options in that area but if you care about your experienceâŚ. Take a drive to...
