T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods — Local services in Chester

Went to this TJMaxx with my mom so we could get funeral dresses for her beloved dad who just passed away. I just flew in from across the country to be here for it. I tried a dress on and stepped out where the associate stands to show my mom my dress. My mom, with my toddler, walked toward me to look at my dress, clearly in front of the associate. The associate yelled “MA’AM” and my mom said “I’m just standing here looking at her dress.” The fitting room associate then grabs her walkie, calls security, and starts loudly stating my mom’s description as if she were a perp. My mom had to leave of course, as she didn’t want to create a scene. The employee glared at us from across the store for the rest if our time there. This is the first time I’ve ever been to a joint store of theirs, and for all the space they shared, I was a little disappointed. Firstly, TJ MAXX usually has its own home wares section, and it didn’t. The size of it is about the same as a regular TJ MAXX but no home stuff at all. Homegoods was a little smaller in size it normally is, and it was ok. We were mostly there for home items… one piece I wanted was broken and without a tag and only the TJ MAXX side had cashiers and it took forever to get someone from Homegoods to get a price and even longer for a manager to come and mark it down. Maybe they should have cashiers on both sides or something? Had a great experience shopping found a few great items! cashier was super helpful. One of my items I noticed as she was wrapping had several flaws so I asked her if I could exchange it for one that wasn’t so flawed! She stated to me let me call the lead and she can help you if there aren’t anymore! So the lead came Thomasina who was not engaging never made eye contact with me or said at least hello she spoke with the cashier never knowledge my presence told the cashier I can do 10percent off !
