I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a deeply upsetting and unprofessional experience I had at your Chesterfield, Michigan location on August 31, 2025, at 8:39 AM.

Location: Wendy’s Store #008715, 3365 23 Mile Rd., Chesterfield, MI 48047 Manager/Host: Troy (listed on receipt) Register #: 3009

I ordered a Baconator Combo through the drive-through. After receiving my order, I bit into the potato wedges and found they were not fresh. I politely went inside and respectfully asked the manager, Troy, for fresh wedges.

Instead of addressing my request properly, Troy took the wedges I had already eaten from, placed them back in the warmer, and then threw them into the grease. I expressed concern that this was unsanitary and asked again for fresh wedges. He refused, stating I was being “irritating” and that I was “running his stats up.”

When I requested a refund for my full order, Troy stated he would only refund the wedges, then pushed the bag containing my sandwich toward me and told me to take it and leave. I calmly repeated that I wanted a full refund, not just for the wedges. Instead of resolving the issue, Troy became more hostile.

At that point, the police, who happened to be dining at the connected Tim Hortons, intervened in the situation due to the manager’s behavior and escalation.

Not only was this behavior extremely unprofessional and hostile, but I also felt I was treated with discrimination and disrespect. The manager’s demeanor, tone, and actions left me feeling targeted and mistreated beyond a simple customer service issue.

This incident raises serious concerns about: Food safety and sanitation – serving previously eaten food is a violation of basic health standards. Customer service – the manager was aggressive, dismissive, and refused a proper refund. Escalation – the situation escalated to the point where police intervened unnecessarily. Possible discrimination – I believe I was treated unfairly and with bias.

I expect that Wendy’s will take this complaint seriously by: • Investigating Store #008715 and the actions of manager Troy. • Addressing the food safety violation. • Reviewing why this incident escalated to police intervention over a simple refund request. • Providing me with a formal written response and resolution.

I have always enjoyed Wendy’s, but this experience was unacceptable and left me feeling mistreated, disrespected, and unsafe.

I used to love this Wendy's. When family came into town from out of state, it was the only fast food around I said was really clean and good service. I do not know what the change is but as of the last year or two, Everytime we eat there, our stomachs are off after and the fries are always stale. I stopped eating the burger and if I just stuck to nuggets I did fine. Well, it had been a LONG while so I thought I'd try a burger again. Today, we had lost all the food in our fridge because our fridge failed. So this evening, we thought we would order out. This Wendy's tossed my burger into the bag not wrapped all the way at the bottom. Not sanitary at all. Also had asked for extra pickles. One burger had like 10-15 pickles, the other one that was supposed to be extra pickles had one, on the outside of the sandwich and just sitting in the wrapper folded in half. I called. I thought maybe my spouse was not friendly going through the drive through. ( It's not ok to give people unprofessional service because you don't like their tone, but it has happened with him multiple times. He doesn't mean to sound unfriendly but it's just the way he speaks sometimes it can be mistaken. ) Its happened enough that I have seen the difference between when I order food through a drive through and when he does so I called and asked at his insistence. Got told no that wasn't the case. And so I asked why it was made that way and not packaged completely. Turned out the manager I was speaking to was the one my spouse ordered from and who packaged the bag. So if the manager does this I won't be eating here again. Ridiculous. People pay a lot to eat out once in a while. You should consider that with all service. Threw out my food. I no longer trust it I've overlooked a bad stomach afterwards for about 2 years. Seeing how carelessness they were with just wrapping an almost 7 dollar sandwich, nope. Not good. Our order totalled just over $56 for 4 people....

I deliver on the food apps part time. Show up to the restaurant at around 9:15pm and try to go inside to pick up an order.

The doors are locked. There’s a young man mopping that looks at me briefly when I’m at the door, and then continues mopping.

I go to the drive thru, and the worker tells me I have to come inside until 10. I explain that the doors are locked, and I’m met with silence………..

About 20 seconds go by, and I ask, “What’re we doing here?” The worker tells me the doors should be unlocked now.

I drive back around, park, go to the doors, still locked. Pound on the doors until the worker mopping stops what he’s doing and lets me in.

The food is sitting on the counter getting cold. There are no customers inside and no one in the drive thru.

An utter lack of common sense and concern for providing good service. This is the first restaurant I actually blocked from future deliveries because I don’t want to have any...

This has to be the worst I’ve ever seen of Wendy’s. They’re already a little overpriced, But when you get overpriced and bad food who wins? I bought the spicy chicken sandwich and I asked for extra mayonnaise and didn’t get it, But then I couldn’t even pick up this Piece of tomato without it falling apart in my hands while I’m trying to pick it up and this flimsy piece of lettuce, they put on there. The food looks old and taste terrible! I downright got robbed!

This has to be the worst I’ve ever seen of Wendy’s. They’re already a little overpriced, But when you get overpriced and bad food who wins?
