My former rating for this establishment was "My favorite!", because it was.
However, the service and kitchen have really gone downhill since 2020/Covid. Maybe it's due to the labor shortage, I'm not sure. But it seems the staff of Public House are now more interested in their own convenience rather than that of their patrons.
The kitchen used to be one of the best. Now when you order they're always telling you what they won't do for you. And the burgers, unlike in the past, come out like they've been put in an incinerator. The new cooks must have a really warped impression of what "medium" means. Or maybe they're just in a hurry and doing shoddy work as a result.
Also, I ordered chicken quesadillas last Wednesday (10/26/2022) and they were cold with freezer burnt tasting chicken. I will say on this same night the grilled chicken salad was good.
Now tonight (Wednesday, 11/2/2022), I tried to call at least 5 times after finishing errands and no one would answer. So I thought I'd just swing through to place a carry out order. However, upon arriving I was informed that I could only get fried food. Mind you this was at 9:00 P.M., and had they bothered to answer their carry out line I could have saved a trip. Regardless, I skipped it and went to Game Time Cheviot's kitchen instead.
Until the Public House starts getting back to their old form and less fixated on their own convenience (rather than that of their customers), I recommend against patronizing them.
As noted above, Game Time Cheviot has an excellent kitchen too. And are solid enough to serve carry out (entire menu) until 11:00 P.M. during the week. And as a customer you don't have to cater to their cooks' convenience. If in Cheviot considering a food order, I'd go with them instead of Public House until further notice.
I still have a fond heart toward Public House, and really hope they can turn it around. And I will still give them a chance to improve, patronizing them occasionally.
I used to spend $80 to $120 in food orders per month at Public House, but those days have long past now. Other establishments who are still interested in their patrons' convenience rather than their own are now getting my business.
I historically never give bad reviews, in fact this is my first ever and I'm planning on it being my last. But enough is enough with this kitchen. Please get it...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. We waited 2 hours for our food. We arrived at 415 on a Saturday and tried to sit at a large table, as there were 13 of us. The bartender at the time was yelling at my 71 year old mother that she couldn't sit there because there is currently a water leak and it drips on the table. This particular bartender was just so rude, it blew my mind. We ended up at 2 tables in the corner. We ordered 3 draft beers and a water. 2 beers came, but the third one, my husband's did not. Our waitress (who was amazing at her job and none of this is her fault) came back and said there was no more CO2, and so no more draft beers. This was a Saturday, during the playoffs mind you. We ordered some appetizers, which took a out 40 minutes to come. They tasted okay, but all of them were cold. We then put in a food order, which is where everything got significantly worse. Our food did not come for almost 2 more hours. The people that got burgers all ordered them medium, but they came out super over cooked. The kids got chicken tenders which were thin as paper and not warm. I personally ordered the garlic parmesan fries, they were not even cooked all of the way. They were so over oiled and did not taste garlicky at all. No one could actually eat them. After dinner, my husband got so sick he threw up twice in the bathroom and once outside. When we finally were able to leave, I forgot something and had to run back in. There was a lady standing outside of the public house warning me to not waste my time. She said she was there for 45 minutes and still had not gotten her water or really any service at all. Our waitress was amazing and she was so apologetic. I do not recommend going here. I will never go back. So disappointing for a bad that was on Bar Rescue. I really...
Read moreCame to Cincy from N.C. To a Bengals game and was really interested in visiting this place because I'm such a huge fan of Bar Rescue. Took my brother, nephew, and son and read the reviews which seemed to be OK. Reviews mostly stated to get burgers since the other food seemed to have issues due to being soggy, cold, or just not served in an adequate time. So we got burgers. Everyone in my group ordered medium well burgers. There was only one waitress and one bartender and the place was very busy. I spoke with my waitress, who was very nice and apologetic, about why they didn't have enough help. She said, Scott, the mgr, didn't feel the need to staff Sunday's due to it not being busy. Wow. This mgr needs to come work a Sunday by himself so he can see how bad the service was. Or maybe fired. If I were running this establishment he would be in the unemployment line. So, back to my food. My entire group had great food. Burgers prepared exactly the way they ordered. Medium well. Mine was almost raw. I sent it back. It came back half cooked again. I don't give third chances with food. So my waitress took it off my bill. And that was the extent of it. I paid for everything else. Not even a free beer. My waitress was so apologetic, however, it wasn't her fault. It came from the kitchen. I'd like to think if a piece of meat came back to the kitchen not prepared correct the first time, I'd be more attentive to make sure it were done perfect the second time. Right? How dam hard is it to cook a burger? Needless to say I had to hit a Burger King drive thru to eat a meal. Save yourself the time and just go to Chick filet and your food should be at least...
