Mon Petit Choux — Restaurant in Cheviot

After binge watching Emily in Paris (don't judge me), it reminded me of our trip to Paris....and then was on the hunt for french pastries.

My husband found this place and we decided to give it a try. He came back with delicious pastries that just hit the spot! Chocolate filled croissants, blueberry Danish, something that tasted like a cranish?, eclair, a different cream puff filled pastry...they have everything! The sweet flavors are all perfectly balanced. Everything tasted great with our coffee/tea at home.

My husband also added that I would have loved seeing this place, so I had to check it out myself in person! The owner, Angela, had remembered him from the last visit. She was friendly, talkative, and sweet! We ordered a bit of everything again (including a Sicilian cheesecake? Delicious a bit more dense than the traditional NY cheesecake style). My heart was broken tho 😟 because there were no more croissants! Unfortunately we got here towards the end, so most items were sold out. As you've learned by now everything is tasty, so I still left happy. If you want more of a selection get there earlier!

Love! My partner and I walked in and were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. (Seriously the most friendly and warm greeting I've had anywhere in a long time.) Between the two of us, we had a blueberry muffin, cinnamon bun, éclair, cream puff, spinach parmesan pastry and a pastry similar to a margherita. I also had a loose leaf chai which is available unsweetened.

I enjoyed all my pastries. The staff made sure I had a safe place to plug in my laptop and really went beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

I have to say the star of the show were the eclair and the creme puff. I've always loved these desserts in general because cream is divine to me. I usually kind of felt like choux is just meh. BUT the choux here is out of this world. I have never had anything like it, the texture is not chewy and bland as I'm used to. Here, it is as it should be, airy with a crisp outside.

What a gem! Mon Petit Choux is a charming and intimate bakery nestled amongst the hustle and bustle of Court Street. The interior is quaint and is reminiscent of a true French cafe/bakery. Our awesome servers added warm and welcoming energy. I ordered two cream puffs; blueberry (seasonal) for me and vanilla for my son, and they were both AMAZING. The pastry had perfect texture, and the cream was melt-in-your-mouth, creamy deliciousness. Additionally, I ordered the apricot gallette, which was delicious as well as a brownie and a cherry and goat cheese danish, which were both gobbled by my son before I could get a taste.
