My company had Dickey's cater for a job-wide appreciation lunch for approximately 350 people. The manager informed me that this would be their biggest catering endeavor, however he assured me that they would be able to meet our expectations. I was not pleased and will not hire Dickey's again. They arrived late and were not set up in time for the lunch. We had people waiting in line for over a half hour while they were setting up. They came out the day prior to check out the facility so they knew what their environment was. Further, I was assured that they would provide staff to service the food lines. Again, they arrived with too few people and we had to round up our own employees to handle the food. That evening we requested meals for 50 or so people. The manager called me at the time the food was to be served and informed me that they were just leaving the restaurant. Again, our employees were hungry and waiting for Dickey's for a long period of time. The worst part about it was that the manager did not apologize for the poor service. I can’t believe how different of an experience dine in vs take out is, presumably because you can correct staff when they forget items in your order in person vs delivery. We’ve gotten take out several times because we had a baby a few months ago and we’re at the point where I don’t even want to give a chance if we go in person. Items constantly missing, feels like the cuts of meat aren’t as good anymore, prices keep going up while service is going down and what happened to take out containers? My food shoved into a foil ball is disgusting. I understand trying to work within a budget but you’re already increasing prices the least you could do is bare minimum effort. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is due to floor mats covering the rear trash can so that I could not dump the refuse from my tray without having to go all the way to the front.
I don't mean to sound petty, but having been in customer service small things like that matter.... especially to people with children or the elderly.
It was later in the evening and I'm guessing they were getting ready to close but that little extra effort can make all the difference for some people.
I definitely will be back for the food.
