As someone who has worked in the service industry, A LOT, I prefer to tip those who serve me. After ordering my drink, I looked for a tip jar, and noticed there wasn’t one, nor was there an option to tip on the screen. I asked about it, and one of the baristas kindly said “We will get fired if we accept a tip.”
I told her that I can’t support a business that doesn’t value their employees enough to let them accept tips. This caused us to feel uncomfortable and leave the line. But, at the end of the day, he is working.
