I am at a love/hate relationship with this restaurant. There are a few things very good with it. First, the environment is nice to sit down with others and enjoy a game on their many TV's. They also are fairly clean, which is respectable for a busy establishment on game days. Before a Sox game, if you aren't tailgating, this is a solid choice. Nothing else around this area is really that tasty, leaving you wishing that you found refreshments and something to munch down on somewhere else. Here, again, it's solid. Flavors be hitting!
Now let's talk about the mixed impression. The food is good, but the selection is very limited. They need alternatives to French fries. I like fries a lot, and they also dab them up with spices the right amount. The cheese sauce you can add to your order definitely adds to the flavor explosion. But their needs to be more. Something lighter, or plainly anything else. The main entrees are mostly comprised of game classics you expect to see, like a burger, chicken and so forth. From everything I've had, the flavors are clearly crafted by chefs who know their way around the kitchen. No complaints with the chef in the back for sure. Damn good pub food!
Now onto the bad. The service isn't great. Could be empty, could be full. You get a sense you're not appreciated. Checking up on the table once would be nice? Is being seated a thing here? Really not sure. Or if not, at least come to the table before a half an hour has past. Wrong items arrive, things missing from your order. This is unfortunately common from all my visits this year. Out of practice because of Covid? I don't really know. Lots of little details that would set an establishment apart as something truly special.
I will still go here in the future as I do recommend their food. It's much more flavorful than the garbage they sell in...
Read moreWent with a friend during a recent Sox home game. Place was maybe 30 percent full so no wait for a seat. Full service bar in the center with plenty of tables around. Lots of big screen TVs and several projector screens around. Nice bay window views in front and tasteful lighting around.
Ordered 2 double burgers with fries. Was not impressed. For the price of $13, you get a rather small burger and a handful of fries. Comparable size to a Wendy's double (except no veggies, just cheese). Burger patties were fine, just right, still a little moist, and the buns were soft brioche buns but we're intact (some places have buns that fall apart when you pick up the burger). I also ordered some bone-in wings to share. They were done just right. Skin was crispy and meat was tender and juicy. On the plus side, the sauce was on the side so you could dip.
Beer list is short and only a few common IPAs. Also very pricey ($12+).
With more affordable and tastier options just a block or two away, I cannot recommend unless you crave being close to the park during game days without being...
Read moreNo Stockyards Combo & google says it opens at 3 pm. The actual website says 2 hours before a game (so google is off even tho during Mexican heritage, they were open at 4pm).
I shouldve taken photos of the food. Food portions and presentations were eh. My party ordered Brisket nachos, footlong dog, single patty smash patty, and spicy chicken sandwich. The only item that was tasty was the hot dog (my friend shared a solid portion of the hot dog). The spicy sandwich that I had looked weird. When I lifted the top bun up, the crust of the chicken came off. Before I keep going in on the food, the tvs had some kind of drama show (USA🇺🇲 channel), as well as a dog pageant. Out of the 11 tvs I could see, only 4 (if that) had...
