I have been a DQ customer for very long time but I recently had a VERY negative experience at 2200 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. The experience was very negative that I felt disappointed enough to write this. The issue took place on Sunday May 24th little before 2pm. I was standing in line to order thru the window. After about 15 mins I got to the window. The employee had a mask that was NOT covering his nose, only his mouth. After I ordered a small oreo cheescake blizzard I stepped aside. When my order became ready I was called & picked it up. As soon as I stepped away from the window, I took a bite of my order and realized that it is the wrong order. I was given an orea blizzard, no cheese cake whatsoever. I tried stirring with the spoon to see if there are any but there was none. By then someone else had stepped to the window to place an order as there was a long line. I did not want to interrupt & I wanted to practice social distancing. I then waited for 2 more customers until I asked one to let me just ask a question before they order, the customer said go ahead. I said to the employee that my order was not right. He yelled loudly at me with a very sharp tone "NO, you got the right order, you ate out of it". I told him no, and explained to him. He then said "throw it, it's gone". I stepped away because I did not want to get into an argument specially during such times & with a line behind me waiting to order. I had only had two spoons of the order. I then realized I did not get the employees name so I stood back again in line & waited for 10 minutes to get to the window. This time as soon as I go to the window the person who previously took my order & yelled me stepped away in anger. I asked the other employee what his name was.She took a second or two to think as if she is trying to think of a fake name.she said "Andrew".I then asked for managers name she said "Prickly". I expect better from DQ, very bad customer service. He MUST have mask to cover his mouth and nose as it is a CDC guideline but even with that he also needs to be polite and provide good customer service if not...
Read moreFrequent Order Errors Ruin the Dairy Queen Experience
I have visited this Dairy Queen on numerous occasions, hoping to indulge in a delightful ice cream treat. However, my experiences have been consistently marred by the store's tendency to mishandle and mess up my orders. It is with regret that I share my disappointment in the service provided.
The primary issue I encountered was the repeated errors in fulfilling my orders. Whether it was a simple request for an extra topping or a specific flavor preference, Dairy Queen seemed unable to grasp even the simplest instructions. It is frustrating to anticipate a scrumptious ice cream creation, only to receive an incorrect product that fails to meet my expectations.
Moreover, the staff's response to these mistakes has left much to be desired. Every time I visit there are new employees working, they all act annoyed and scream at each other. Employees appeared indifferent or dismissive. The lack of consistency in addressing these errors added to the overall dissatisfaction with my visits.
To their credit, the quality of the ice cream itself at Dairy Queen is commendable. The flavors are rich and varied, and the texture is creamy and enjoyable. However, the persistent errors in order fulfillment overshadow these positive aspects, leaving me hesitant to return to this establishment.
I sincerely hope that Dairy Queen takes customer feedback seriously and implements measures to improve their order accuracy. For now, I find it difficult to recommend this ice cream store due to the consistent disappointment caused by their inability to get the simplest of...
Read moreWent up during COVID in attempts to help local workers / businesses with my family in the car. I assumed this is a franchise location and wanted to support local. The counter girl offered a large attitude after i polite greeted her. Very apparent she did not want to be there let alone take my order. I get that during a pandemic you don't want to be out and about, but if you have to be to pay bills, it should be encouraging when people come in to patronize the location and give reason to keep the job going.
I believe the owner was there at the time when he took my payment then she made the ice cream items. I politely thanked her and got "yea" with another distinct impression she was mad I even came up to the window to order. To note, the owner smiled and was friendly.
To add, the counter girl did not use gloves of any kind and handed me a unwrapped spoon without gloves or even a napkin. I watched as both the blizzard and milkshake were made without washing hands after she used both hands to open the counter window - disappointing health standards even if COVID was not a thing right now.
I don't need to risk my only family's safety to window order during a pandemic when the employees aren't going to be excited about serving when likely businesses is significantly down and especially not when said employees aren't washing their hands.
Will be making my own blizzard and shake at home next time or going...
