It doesn't taste nearly as good as way back in the day. I remember the location on 79th/Western early on. The fishwich was the bomb along with the onion rings and sea nuggets, which is whiting cut up in pieces. And later the sole location for awhile being on 87th/Dan Ryan. It would be a hit or miss with them. They changed the onion rings which were horrible. I don't know the reason they changed them but they brought them back real quick. I wasn't having none of that. First time eating from this location on 35th. The main issue is they're over priced for the quantity of food you get. I got the regular fishwich combo and a small nugget. I would've tried the bean pie but they were out. I honestly didn't even think of the onion rings. I could tell from how light weight the bag was, that I wasn't hardly getting anything for my money. I sampled the fries on the drive home. And that was it. There were only a few of them to begin with. They could've been hotter. The sandwich was alright. If I'm not mistaken, you used to get 3 pieces with the regular fishwich but now it's 2 little pieces. They're probably cutting the whiting in half. I reheated the sea nuggets the next day. They were very good except for a couple of bones. That's one of my fears... choking on a fish bone. Nuggets are supposed to be boneless. Again there wasn't much to begin with. I used to get the small sea nuggets as a meal not a snack. I understand everything going up. It's just not worth it to the customer. You raise prices and reduce the amount of food. We can make our own fishwich at home if...

From one star to five! See update at the end.

Not only is their fish & shrimp greasy and **horribly bland, Dock’s on 312 East 35th street Chicago, Illinois does not provide you with ANY condiments to camouflage this terrible food!

On February 19, 2023, my friend and I separately ordered the steak catfish and five shrimp combo and when we got home we discovered that there was no tarter sauce, shrimp cocktail sauce or ketchup in our bags. In addition, the size of the dockberry shakes was downsized.

Therefore, I called the store to tell them that they didn’t provide us with the condiments and the cashier stated that there’s a sign on the wall that says that you have to ask for them.

Seriously Dock’s!? Where is this signage and why can’t you ask your customers if they want condiments without us having to look for a sign! Do we need to look for this sign at all of the Dock’s locations or is it just at this one?

This is why they received one star. The shrimp batter taste like dough and the shrimp tasted undercooked. The catfish steak is greasy and it taste like there is no seasoning on it at all. So, I’m going to call back and ask for a full refund, but there’s probably a sign for that too! Wish me luck!

**UPDATE-I went back to Docks a few days after (with the food that I didn’t eat) and the manager was so nice and accommodating! Not only did they give me a Fishwish meal (with condiments), they gave me a large Dock Berryshake too!

In addition, he asked me if I wanted him to replace the catfish steak and shrimp order however I respectfully decline....

My coworkers and I drove here, from the Northside, once we got off work. I ordered the whiteys fish dinner which was fried hard and disgusting and they didn’t give me any napkins with my food. My coworker ordered perch fish and Buffalo chicken eggroll, while waiting for my order, I tried my coworker Buffalo chicken egg roll and I liked it, so I ordered my own egg rolls, they were three for $12, so I ordered three buffalo chicken eggrolls, however the cashier said that they only had two Buffalo chicken egg rolls left, so I said fine give me the two Buffalo chicken eggrolls and one jerk chicken eggroll. Cashier took my order, while patiently waiting for them to prepare my eggrolls. 45 minutes later I walk up to the counter and ask how long is it going to take for my Egg rolls and I show the cashier year my receipt and she says we gave you your order already. At this point I’m angry and the other cashier year said, that the young lady that took my order, gave it to someone else, so I asked the cashier year to give me my money back, at that point the manager came out and apologized and offered to make my egg rolls , which were Jerk chicken egg rolls, I don’t care for spicy food and he gave my coworkers and I free soda while we waited . For my order, the manager was excellent with rectifying the situation, however I will not be going back to this establishment my fish fried hard and it...

Going to Dock's reminded me of the past! Dock's used to be everywhere! There are only three locations left. Some old empty buildings are still around. I remember taking a co-worker (Jennifer) to lunch at Dock's on east 75th street back in the 90s. We'd eat Dock's, drive to the lake and then make out. The whole car smelled like fish afterwards.👍🏼 Well, the service at this Dock's is great and the Fishwich meal tasted exactly like I remember it! It was simply delicious! The service was great too. Dock's really isn't a dine in place but this location is always clean. You have a clear view of the guys selling illegal cigarettes in the Popeye's lot across the street on 35th street if you want to people watch. The African American art in the lobby is a nice touch! Hmm. I have see if I can find Jennifer's old number now.

I love spots that are hood even if they're not located there. This new Dock's lives up to the legacy started over 30 years ago. They are slow. Real slow. 20 to 30 minutes slow. Make sure your phone is charged so you have something to do. The waiting room is nice. I can't call it a dining room because no one really ever eats there. They still have the best fish in town but I'm afraid I'll have to give it to King Fish for the best shrimp. All in all it brings back a lot of fond memories and it's still the best "dashboard cuisine" in the City.

My first and last time coming here. I wanted catfish fillet and the young lady said they haven't had catfish in 2 weeks. Then I ask for chicken, she take my debit card charge me then say I forgot to tell you its a 15 min wait, like why didnt you tell me before I paid because I wouldnt never got it and the wait was longer than that. Then the chicken look and taste like it was cooked in old greace dont taste fresh at all. I will not be back
