What happened to Dublin’s?
This used to be my go-to casual spot for good food, wine, and service. It had been a while since my last visit—life got busy after having a baby—but I was so excited to return for an afternoon out with a friend. Unfortunately, the experience completely ruined my rare day out.
First, they no longer have a real wine selection—just basic house options for red, white, and rosé. Our waitress couldn’t provide any details beyond that. We decided on a bottle of rosé, but as we poured it, we realized it was a low-calorie, low-alcohol version. That’s not what we wanted. When we told them we didn’t want it, they argued that because the bottle was open, they couldn’t do anything. But we had tried to ask questions before ordering, and our waitress was no help.
Eventually, they agreed to swap it for a bottle of red. However, the waitress simply placed the bottle on the table and walked away—we still had our small pours of rosé but no clean glasses. We waited, but no one came. After a while, we just drank the little bit of rosé left in our glasses and poured the red ourselves.
The food was decent, and we were enjoying our afternoon—until the check arrived. We were shocked to see that we were being charged for the glasses of rosé. When we pointed out that we never received clean glasses, the manager came over and told us he had watched us finish the rosé. So, he knew we swapped the bottle but still chose to watch us drink from our old glasses instead of bringing new ones? After going back and forth, they refused to remove the charge.
We asked to speak to someone else, and they told us to call or come in on Monday because they don’t like to bother the GM on weekends—apparently, he only works Monday through Thursday. A general manager of a busy Gold Coast restaurant who doesn’t work weekends? Really?
I’m so disappointed. Dublin’s used to be a place I loved and frequently recommended—I even work in the neighborhood. But after this experience?...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs unless you like being treated rudely for trying to spend your money there. We're working outside of this place today and decided to call and place a to go order. The lady who works there between 4-5pm, white lady in her 60’s maybe is an absolute nightmare. Rude af on the phone, rude af in person. It takes a lot for me to complain about something, but she legit seemed pissed off that we were trying to patronize their business. Like we were bothering her and she didn’t want to deal with us. 0n the phone. Then, went in and she was like, “no no no, there’s no way you’re paying separate, I already put it in together.” So I laughed and said it’s ok and gave her my card. She goes next time tell me you blah blah blah and I said lady don’t worry there won’t be a next time and response was good good good. Sad a place loses business because of the attitude of one of their own employees. Oh and she overcharged me because the prices for what we got on the menu were $13 and $12, plus tax whatever. She charged me $39 and didn’t give me a receipt I’m assuming on purpose but I just wanted to get the hell out of there already. I didn’t realize it until we got back to the job site to eat and didn’t see a receipt and then checked my bank. So if you’re like me and don’t like to be treated like garbage somewhere you’re paying for something at, avoid this place. If you hate people, don’t work in customer service. And if you hate...
Read moreI've repeatedly visited this establishment for quick meals, but unfortunately, each experience has been more disappointing than the last. Reluctantly, I feel that the treatment received may be influenced by racial bias.
During our most recent visit, an unsettling incident at the entrance led me to decide I can no longer support this business. I was initially denied entry due to a dress code violation because of a hat I was wearing. Complying with their policy, I removed the hat and returned, only to be denied again. The security guard insisted that he couldn't allow me entry as my face had already been captured on camera, citing his job security despite my adherence to their dress code.
We escalated the issue to a manager, hoping for a reasonable explanation. However, the manager simply supported the security guard's stance without elaborating on the specific dress code issue. Feeling unwelcome and unfairly treated, we chose to leave.
This experience isn't unique. In the past, the service has been notably neglectful. Often, I've had to proactively seek assistance for basic service needs. It appears that the establishment caters to a specific clientele, and unfortunately, it seems we do not fit this profile. These experiences of apparent discrimination and consistently poor service have led me to conclude that my patronage is better...
