I know i pur 50 + for cost but this is down town and food and some drinks could go much higher much faster by the address. Or the suits that sit around sharing corporate info publicly.
But the staff is quite amazing Hopy was really a breath of fresh air, honest, in good spirits even when being give a 10 top at the end of her shift , clear need a break , or at least something for blood sugar. But did that stop her excellent service even when being tired cost her dropping a tray. No this women Put on a smile , pushed on, and said with out saying a word that she will be a Samurai even when she needed back up. True amazing sight and one so not found in service . If you get her or better yet request her. She when we weren't done told us about our next server said she was the best not even missing a beat. I told her she had a lot to prove after how well she took care of me in my friend .
So next up was Josleen, we order to more drinks sadly this is the only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars is the bar tender changed it my second Martin was just lacking compared to the perfectly made drink of the first. Or the amount of head on my friends beer.
We wanted to stay but it was a clear mark that the new Bartender was not up to the task especially being fresh. Also show how well the very busy and end of shift people wish I new the first Bartenders name was.
But Josleen( not sure on the spelling) and Hopy choice as #1 service provider. Was understanding, funny, full of positive, almost changed our mind about staying . But she wasn't making the drinks and to be quite honest someone that could bring the mood up at a funeral and one of the reason I will refinery go back. Ask for as a server is Hopey is off. They are definitely going to be request. How often so you get a poorly made drink and your new server doesn't miss a beat and made sure you left smiling and coming back. And time 3000 when dealing with that many suits. Trust impressive.
So to review Hopy and Josleen are most impressive and worth of request and a 30% not 20% tip. If your in a suit 😉 make it 40% or prove how cheap you are with your privilege.
Truly made my night at Chicago theatre and with a friend i dont see often excellent.
This place has class giving both that pub and high end feel but also welcoming to any class person, it full but you don't feel crowded.
I really wish my last drink was as good as the first but all that say is the first bartender was well crafted. Maybe the second one was having an off day and all the other stay are proving to themselves how good they are.
So the're you go! Down town and Greek town it's hard to impress with the compition and money dropped. But some people money isn't what matters. It the joy of the present and it doing the best in the moment that is what Emerald Loop has over places with 24$ beers. It's perfect location for a walk on the river or a comedy show at Chicago theatre. Dont drive lyft or public train is the way to go.
As always tell them the...
Read moreWorst. Restaurant. Dining. Experience. Ever. I would not have even given this 1 star but I had to in order to post this review. Everything about it was bad, the cocktail (a Strawberry Basil lemonade with Vodka), the charcuterie board appetizer, my dinner (the grilled cheese brisket sandwich), and the service. I wish I had taken photos. I kept thinking if Gordon Ramsey experienced what we experienced he would melt down like never before. The waitress was standing adjacent from us the whole time. She was not the least bit busy. We had to wave her over to take our order and bring ketchup and salt. I had to suggest that the empty appetizer plates and the pathetic charcuterie board be taken away from our tiny table for two before our dinners were brought out. The cocktail was over priced and tasteless. Half the charcuterie board was folded cold cuts, crackers, tiny chunks of maybe white cheddar, mustard and jam plated right next to each other, and the other half was a wilted salad of mixed greens and cherry tomatoes with feta but no dressing and who puts a salad on a charcuterie board? It seemed like they ran out of the actual ingredients and put together whatever they had available. No blue cheese and one olive. It was awful and it was $18. But the biggest disappointment was my sandwich. I was really looking forward to it. What I got I was not able to eat, much less enjoy. The brisket was way overcooked and tough. The Texas toast bread had set under the warmer so long it was rock hard and the top pieces had slid off the sandwich as the cheese was melting. The side of tomato basil bisque for dipping was disgusting and looked as though it had been scraped from the bottom of a pan to barely fill the bottom of a small side bowl. I was supposed to get waffle fries but they did not come out with my dinner. They came later and were the only thing that was fit to be eaten once we got some ketchup. There was no manager in sight. When I mentioned how bad my dinner was to the waitress she offered a weak apology and nothing more. This place has a lot of bad reviews I wish I had read before going. I have never written a bad restaurant review before but this experience was so bad that I had...
Read moreI’ve been a customer of Emerald Loop since 2016 and have to say this has been my worst experience ever. My spouse and I decided to have dinner here since everything else in the area had a 25-30 minute wait.
Our server came over and took our order for drinks. I was trying to decide what I wanted to drink so I took a little longer that my husband did so he ordered his drink first. Then my husband wanted the ahi tuna bowl, he was told they were out of it. So by then I told the server I wanted the raspberry bubbles and we were going to start with their truffle fries. I ordered the carne asada steak salad.
A couple of minutes pass and my husband tells him he wants the sweet chili sriracha wrap with the tomato bisque soup. The waiter comes back with my husband’s drink. After a few minutes they bring my husband his food. Mind you I still haven’t gotten my drink or our truffle fries which were meant for us to start with first.
More than 15-20 minutes pass and they finally bring the fries along with my salad. (Still no drink)
A party of four gets seated next to us and everyone gets their drinks in a matter of 4-5 minutes.
Several more minutes pass my husband had to wave our server and he ask him for the check. He tells us the total and my husband asks what’s on the check, as he reads it back to us we catch that he said raspberry bubbles. We pointed out I never got my drink. He briefly apologized and walked away to fix the check, comes back and gives us our new total. He didn’t even try to redeem himself for the poor service he provided! The food is great but the service...
