Though Iām originally from Chicago, I was in town with my partner, visiting for a 3-day conference. Here is our 3-day experience with GreenBitez:
Day 1 - I ordered Varoldās Chicken and Birria Tacos. Sat in my car and received a text telling me which food locker my food was in. The food was amazing! The locker was such a quick and efficient way to pick up the food and go. I felt that GreenBitez was new aged and futuristic. We had to go back!
Day 2 - I ordered Varoldās again and the Cajun Pasta. Sat in my car and waited, and waited, and waited for the text telling where to pick up my food. It never came. I went inside to see if I could speak to someone and saw someone hand delivering the food. Told them I had been waiting. She said sheād find out. When the owner came out she informed us that our food was stolen. In total we waited 2 hours for them to resolve it. No refund, no complimentary anything and we felt foolish for waiting. The food was great but my focus was on the service. We wondered how it was possible to steal from the locker if you needed a code? So we wanted to investigate.
Day 3 - We ordered Varoldās and the Philly sandwich and decided to wait in the lobby to learn how the theft was possible. A man who was going off on rants was also in the lobby but we stuck it out. When the food arrived, someone yelled out names and then handed bags of food to whoever was in the lobby. I almost took the wrong bag and realizedā¦THATāS HOW IT HAPPENED. The service almost ruined the experience.
In summary, if this business focused solely on the food experience then Day 1 was perfect because the food is amazing and other companies would likely copy this forward thinking pick-up format. However, Day 2 & 3 made me realize itās an old-school mom and pop shop still learning how to eliminate human errors. Hereās my feedback: use the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been plant based for over 7 years and i LOVE the initiative of new black owned spots that are vegan-friendly. However, my experience this past weekend was terrible š.. It was my second time there. Ima try to keep this review as short as possible. The Varold's was good except the fries have absolutely NO seasoning.. (not even salt) & may need to be fried just a tad bit longer. NO paper napkins came in the bag. If you don't ask for hot/mild sauces on the side, you will get NONE. The order comes with NO BREAD. Not even if you order the Cajun Alfredo pasta. Also, the cajun alfredo pasta should just be named ALFREDO pasta because that also lacked seasoning, but it was fine otherwise.š© The Birria Jackfruit Tacos need to be taken off the menu completely. The choice of vegan cheese that they used is terrible!!! Please go back to the drawing board with that one, I think they do have so much potential. Also, the fries that came with that seemed undercooked with NO SEASONING.. The birria sauce/dip was good tho. But my friend and i spent over $40 on the varold's (1 order) and birria tacos and couldn't even finish it. We didn't even want to ask for a replacement nor a refund because of the WAIT we already hadš and nobody was at the counter for us to talk to for most of the time..... Now already, they do let you know that your order can take 45mins-1hr. My friend and i ordered TWO things and were waiting for OVER AN HOUR along with 5 other people. There was very little communication so everybody was pretty much confused on what was taking so long. DO NOT ORDER THIS IF YOURE ACTUALLY SUPER HUNGRY š.. Wishing this new business immense progress and success. Just order from here when u have TIME, PATIENCE, SEASONING, SAUCES, &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited GreenBites restaurant on October 19, 2024. Upon arriving, I discovered that it was located inside of a shared/ghost kitchen. This was my first time visiting this type of restaurant. I was able to figure out how to order my food. The establishment had a kiosk, but it was occupied. I was able to order on my phone. When I saw the wait time. I was kind of disappointed, as it was a 50 minute wait. I ordered the Varoldās chicken a Philly cheesesteak and some chocolate chip cookies. It was kind of pricey around $45 with tip. The wait wasnāt as long as I anticipated, it actually came out about 15 minutes early. I drove home which was a 20 minute drive and ate my food. I must say hands-down the Veroldās chicken was absolutely delicious. Harolds was one of my favorite foods before I went vegan and I havenāt eaten it in almost 2 years. I was very happy to find something that taste similar to Harolds. What a great idea! The portion size of the Varoldās was pretty big, I could not eat my Philly until the next day. The next day I warmed up my Philly and it was also delicious. I would definitely patronize this restaurant again. The food was amazing. The portion sizes were nice. I hope that one day she can open a standalone restaurant so that you can sit down and enjoy your food...
