Khatoon Cuisine | Persian & Mediterranean Halal Food — Restaurant in Chicago

We recently tried Khatoon Cuisine for takeout and had a great experience. The food was excellent — we ordered three stews (Gheimeh, Ghormeh, and Fesenjoon), and each one was flavorful, well-prepared, and nicely packaged. You can tell a lot of care goes into the cooking.

The ordering process was smooth. I placed the order through their website and followed up with the restaurant directly — they were responsive and helpful. The pickup is fully automated in a shared takeout facility with multiple restaurants. There’s no seating area — it’s strictly for pickup, and we saw a steady flow of people and Uber/DoorDash drivers coming and going. Once your order is ready, it gets placed in a secure cabinet for easy self-pickup.

The owner’s daughter handed me the order and was very pleasant. I learned they ran a home kitchen for years before launching this takeout spot about 2.5 months ago. It’s a smart setup and a great way to bring homemade Persian food to more people.

A Hidden Gem in the South Loop – Khatoon Cuisine

We stumbled upon Khatoon Cuisine while staying at a nearby hotel in Chicago’s South Loop — and what a delightful discovery it was!

Since we preferred to enjoy our meal in the comfort of our hotel room, we really appreciated that Khatoon offers pickup only at the moment. The ordering process was smooth, and our food was ready right on time — ideal for our plans.

The food itself was exceptional — freshly made, full of flavor, and truly authentic Persian cuisine. A few highlights:

We recently ordered from Khatoon, and I was genuinely impressed! Every dish was flavorful and comforting, truly a testament to authentic Persian home cooking. The Zereshk Polo ba Morgh was tangy, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. Their Kashk o Bademjan had a rich, smoky depth I couldn’t resist.
