This is not a dine in restaurant. This is not a restaurant open until 12 am on Saturdays. I scheduled my food order, five gulab jamuns, on their preferred website, DoorDash, for pickup at 7:10 pm. I came to the address and find that it is essentially an UberEats pickup station for multiple restaurants. I get notified that my order is ready at 7:28 pm, but there’s no way to collect my order to scan. I try contacting the restaurant via one of the tablets there with no response. I try calling the phone number associated with the restaurant and it goes straight to voicemail. There are no staffers anywhere. I end up catching a guy coming out of the staff area and another customer also asks for his help with Kruthika. He goes back and checks with the staff and says that none of the kitchens know about Kruthika and it seems like they weren’t here today. However, apparently they had been in sometime this week. There’s no option to dispute the order and get a refund, so I’m going to have to call the bank to file a chargeback. This sucked, I had planned to order these treats for a birthday party and had to scramble to make other plans at the last minute.

Response to the owner's reply: While I may not have otherwise responded, I am compelled to, given your threat of legal action. I would like to bring to YOUR attention that per Illinois 815 Ill. Comp. Stat. 505/1 through 505/12 is a Consumer protection law for businesses that engage in deceptive practices. Please go ahead and file a lawsuit and I'll be happy to see you in court. I have proof of ordering from your "restaurant", proof of the poor packaging, as well as pictures of what was delivered - it's here for you to see as well. Good luck with running a business with condescending and defensive responses to negative reviews. Original review: Perhaps THE worst food I've encountered in my life. I ordered a mix veg korma and all I got was just oil. No vegetables but some old food that looks anything but appetizing. Went to trash directly.

I want to give negative stars if possible! Worst food ever no hygiene Bad packaging. Spoiled food At least provide edible food Tried reaching the kitchen too they spoke very rudely. I ordered the Double Egg Fried Rice from Krutika Spice Kitchen, and it was very much disappointing. The dish was overloaded with black pepper powder, and hot sauce or chilly powder...making it extremely spicy even though I specifically requested 'medium' spice in the instructions. We couldn't eat that one spoon...It seems they don't understand the meaning of 'medium Additionally, despite ordering a double egg, there was barely any egg in the dish! They dont even know the meaning of fried rice❌❌ please stop running kitchen when you dont know how to cook. Worst kitchen and this is not even indian food. Better not to eat anything rather than trying here

My reply to Krithika Spice Kitchen on 10/18/24👇🏾:

Thanks for the reply, I leave reviews to both and good experiences that I had. Instead of taking my comments with the right attitude, going through my profile and labeling me that I leave negative reviews for reputable restaurants is in very poor taste.

I left a review based on my experiences with your food and I ordered food from your establishment multiple times. I gave you multiple chances to see if you could improve but I was wrong. It was only getting worse. I spent my hard earned money on your food. I encourage you to consider customer's health and their hard earned money as well when serving sub-par food.

My constructive feedback is - change your oil or use good oil and increase your quantity for the prices you charge and use only fresh meat, the meat you served me was spoiled.

Sir, please understand negative remarks are not for entertainment but for improvement. If you ignore and label everyone who's criticizing your quality as negative entertainment seekers which means you simply don't want to improve. Now I'm questioning all your other positive reviews. if they're even real?

If you genuinely wanted to address my quality issues, you should have started with that message first instead of calling me out on my other reviews or saying I was doing this for entertainment. You did not even leave a direct contact number or email address to which I would have replied and perhaps we could have worked together. This definitely doesn't help anyone and I appreciate your understanding and hope you consider this in the future and get better with your quantity and quality issues.

My original reviw on 10/16/24 👇🏾: The food quality and quantity is progressively getting worse. Can you please re-think how much you're charging for the quantity of food you deliver and the oil used in the food reeks of disgusting smell and the meat also tastes spoiled. Please take care of these issues before someone...

The other reviews don't lie - this is an amazing restaurant, all the more so for operating from a modest ghost kitchen. Reviewers of Indian restaurants are often very picky! (5 stars for atmosphere, acknowledging that this is a takeout-only arrangement.)

In addition to what others have written, let me add a few additional reasons why I love this restaurant. I hope it becomes a permanent fixture on the South Side:

There are several menu items I don't see featured frequently in Chicago restaurants.

The food is well priced, freshly made, and flavors are fantastic. Even common dishes like veggie korma take on new meaning coming from here, with bold flavors that simultaneously have depth and subtlety.

The menu is much larger than what you see on some of the websites - at least, at the time of this writing. Have a look at the online ordering apps to find everything. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes to try - more than I thought.

The woman who helped me place my order was incredibly patient and kind! She double-checked the order for me.

The late-night hours are no hoax! I don't know anywhere else on the South Side to get food this good after 11pm.

Best...
