The food is Chinese/Korean fusion (korean bbq with Chinese style bbq with some Korean dipping sauces and accent flavors). At the time of this review, they had a store opening promotion of 50% off drinks that was not listed in the menu.
The new location has service staff who are learning to adapt as a team. There was a slight hiccup with service because their printer malfunctioned so the kitchen staff was behind on orders. As a large group of 6, we weren't too bothered and the place was not busy. They have an iPad/touchscreen style order system but the wait staff did come frequently to check in.
The food was fresh and the large variety helps to accommodate different dietary restrictions (cold dishes, veggies, meat, seafood). Notable items on the menu was the bibimbap, spicy pork belly, and premium steak. Alcohol was semi-strong but subtle in syrup flavor. The least impressionable item menu were the oysters which was somewhat misleading on the menu as $3/oyster.
If it's only all you can eat - $36.99 but after adding premium items and gratuity it amounted to around $75-$80 per person. We did not order the food ferris wheel but it may help elevate the experience if you wanted a set meal. The price point felt above average but not irreasonable (just have a growing teenager with you). A la Carte options ranged from up to $5 for extra condiments and $16 for main courses and meat selections. Menu item pricing are also adjusted depending on the type of AYCE.
Overall, our family had a great experience. FYI: Street parking can be difficult to find but a paid lot is available next to...
Read moreThey deleted my last review so posting again on a different account to make sure yall are warned.
For starters, it took them about 10 minutes to greet me when I walked In the front door. There was no one at the front check in desk or bar so I just stood there until someone greeted and asked if I was dining in.
Once I got my table, the servers just seemed annoyed with me. This was my first time here so I didn’t know these people and have no idea why it seemed like they were aggravated. I was by myself so I don’t know if this was just their service with everyone or just me. I’m typically open minded too, if it was just a busy stressful day I would understand but, it wasn’t that busy at least when I got there. So the service in general was wack.
The food was also VERY bland. I got spicy pork belly and it literally tasted like nothing. I had to ask for extra chili seasoning because of the lack of flavor/spice. I’ve had Korean BBQ plenty of times before at other places, this was my first experience at this place and this was the worst.
I wouldn’t come back here, which is very unfortunate because it’s right around the corner from my apartment like literally a 2 minute walk but there’s so many better Korean bbq options...
Read moreI think this place is very underrated. We've been to so many restaurants in the Chicago area which have more stars and many times we leave disappointed, wondering why we spent that much money eating out. Though we spend a good amount going with the All u Can Eat menu here, it feels like a good value still and we've been going here probably once every couple months (or more often) the past two years.
The service here has definitely improved in the past half year -- the staff were always friendly but oftentimes the place had felt a bit understaffed.
My only recommendations off the top of my head are:
have more sauce options shown on the menu. Best would be one of those make ur own dipping sauce bars that some Asian restaurants offer these days
the fried cheese balls are great, basically dessert like. Since theyre dessert-like it would be nice though to have a semi sweet dipping sauce and/or cinnamon sugar option for them.
margaritas are decent but maybe give an option to do a bit less sugar + more real lime juice in them so they taste more natural rather than like...
