Me and my best friend went here for her birthday. We made a reservation and it was Mother’s Day weekend so things were pretty tight. I thought the place was bigger but it’s not so I understood.. We sat at the bar at first to wait for our seats. He was gonna have a drink and we were gonna sit at the bar but we drove all the way from Wisconsin so I told my friend no we going to wait our table.. Mitra offered us a glass of champagne for the inconvenience she was very kind and understanding and she’s not the type of person that rushes you out the door because it’s close to closing time she wants you to get the full experience of why you came. Unfortunately for us all you can eat crab legs is not served on a Saturday and Friday so we got the three course meal with the appetizer main course dessert so we both got the crab legs in order à la carte ribeye. Food was amazing our server was horrible ( we been in the hospitality industry for over 20yrs ) we are waiting around for our first course our appetizers and I look over she’s in A huddle talking with her coworkers and on her phone, we was trying to get her attention because we wanted to order additional appetizers so I had to go up to the huddle and tell her I want to order additional appetizers and my best friend was looking at her & She got our food right out the window. It was ready and she didn’t even know. I don’t know if she’s just a horrible server or we are African American and she just didn’t think we were going to tip. We thought gratuity was automatic But it’s not she’s just a horrible server. She did not suggest any food options when she found out we was there for you all. Can you eat crab legs? She didn’t ask what bought us to the restaurant I put BIRTHDAY when I made a reservation on the open table. It felt like she wanted to get rid of us When we ordered the ribeye and we wanted the ribeye to come out with the crab legs. she had a attitude, I did not understand why she had an attitude when we are ordering more food. We could’ve just got the three course meal and left it alone, but we got two additional appetizers. As well as the steak. And a alcoholic beverage she did not suggest You know as a server you’re supposed to come back in two bites to check on your customers she did not come back . Her coworker Daniel spoke asked us if we need anything how was everything? He must’ve heard us talking about her or the look on our facesWe told him he has a horrible coworker as a server . She didn’t give us no suggestions she didn’t offer us no drinks, She was so bad she didn’t even tell us her name We Took our time we had to take over the table, stagger our food, and we had a really really nice time due to the hostess Mitra and Daniel. Our bill was $226 and we still gave that horrible server 18%. It was supposed to be 20% but It equaled to a $35 tip, And the only reason why I still tipped her at all was because I understand being in the service industry and we pay our bills off tips and just to let her know don’t judge a book by its cover Everyone should be entitled to get the same treatment & experience, even if you think they are not going to tip. But We are coming back for the all you can eat crab legs. I am just gonna make sure she is not our server. I’m going to ask for the young man and I hope I don’t...
Read moreIt was a 2.5 hour drive each way for my birthday July All-You-Can-Eat Alaskan Snow crab leg brunch. Make reservations to dine here. Parking is a pain, so plan ahead and give yourself ample time to arrive earlier than your reservation. Brunch hours do not have valet parking, just parallel street parking. Table cloths, cloth napkins, and candles, adorn the tables. The taste, texture, smell, look, and temperature of the crab legs were perfect. The tools provided were in decent condition. The cajun butter add-on was the best of 3 butter options (plain, garlic, & cajun) by my taste and was definitely awesome. All of the food brought to the table was piping hot too! The ribs were tasty and fell apart. The key lime pie martini was disappointing. It did not even remotely taste like any lime much less key lime. It was mostly bitter, pineapple forward, and not sweet. Not sure why the bartender thinks pineapple juice with plain lime juice belong in it. If you don't have key lime juice or key lime mixer, you don't have the right ingredient to begin with and you certainly shouldn't call this version "key lime". Because of the martini mishap, I would grade the overall experience as a 4.5. But I didn't dine here for the drinks. My focus was to enjoy cracking & eating AYCE snow crab legs to my heart's content and I did so with pleasure. The service was impeccable. We never had a shortage of food, drinks, or any wait for a new batch of crab legs. Our server was on it! All of the staff helped at some point to pick up a stack of crab shells, dirty dishes, or just to greet us to and from their restaurant with enthusiastic smiles. You felt like special guests. The restaurant decor and colors were appropriate and clean. The items on the table, the seating, and menus were not sticky or dirty. The bathrooms were very clean and amply supplied. My only other recommendation is that since the average food and drink bill here is rather high, offering inexpensive mints and/or hot hand towels at the end would be a finishing touch since they try so hard in all other areas. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I am looking forward to eating here again, even...
Read moreNormally I wouldn't care to even bother to write a review but with such poor service given to my family on Mother's Day, I had to say something. My brother in Law made Dinner reservations for us. It was His Mom, Him and my wife and three children. We were treating the moms to a special dinner. He had already arrived so I dropped my wife, mom, and kids at the door and went to look for parking. When my wife walked in she said "Reservations for Diaz" The man at the door who we were later told was the owner/manager replied, "Are you with the Spanish people?" This was a very off-putting thing to say she had no idea what to reply she simply said "Yeah I guess" He pointed to the back of the restaurant. Later I walk in the door and told him "yes I am here for the Diaz reservation " "IN THE BACK" ......
So that's how we started. So Are waiter was a nice guy we were ready to order after deliberating over what appetizers we were going to get. But the waiter wanted us to "understand" the menu and proceeded to tell us about it. Nice guy but totally unnecessary. We ordered got our "Just ok" food. The table across from us was having a terrible experience. It was an African American family celebrating mothers day too. They accused the owner of being racist, treating them poorly and giving them terrible service. Then It all really made sense when we "The Spanish Family" had been directed to the back. It really set the tone for the rest of our meal.
The nail in the coffin was when we had dessert and the waiter offered us a coffee. My wife and her mom ordered some coffee but it was ice cold. so The waiter took them back and went to make a fresh pot. We waited a while. I grew impatient so I decided to go get the car since I had to park two blocks away. 10 minutes later my wife comes to the car and says that the manager/Owner we think his name is Cy, came to her and said "Did you get your check?" "Yes we did and we paid" she replied. "Ok you need to go people waiting for this booth" WHOA blows my mind when I heard that. Mind you I know how it is when it's busy but c'mon really? That's just terrible service.
Never will I ever return to this establishment. The...
