I was visiting the cafe’ Monday July 28 with my family at brunch time based on its good reviews, and we were excited about the kind of experience we would have. We were 7 adults, and after we placed our orders, we found the last spot to be seated inside the dining area and we arranged the table and chairs, making sure that we will be sitting next to the wall away from the way of the staff and the customers. Sadly and unexpectedly, one of the staff who is African American with braided bun hair style, came telling me in a non-friendly tone that I have to remove one of the chairs. And when I told him that we cannot, and we can squeeze our selves around the table, if we are making the way little narrow for him. He told me with an elevated tone, that I can’t sit at this spot, so I replied to him to fine me another table. He harshly replied that I can go and sit outside. I replied that it’s hot out so we cannot do this. His tone got more harsh even more and told me that I just cannot sit in this spot, even after we squeezed our chairs to make a bigger room for the way. He again repeated with the same harsh tome, that I cannot sit there, so I elevated my tone as well in response to his disrespectful way and asked for the manager. He replied that he is the manager, so I told him in a very sharp way that if you are the manager, so you are not fit for the job. He kept on harassing me in front of my family, so I told him to call the police for me. He just disappeared after keeping on scowling showing disrespect, with no response from me. Read moreI work nearby and typically recommend my clientele stop by for pastries and other light cafe fare. I came by today and the worker rang my order incorrectly. I immediately noticed the issue and came back to the cashier stand to get it fixed. After helping the customer in front of him, he ignored me but came back. I notified him of the issue and he asked if my receipt reflected my correct order. It did not, as if this was the case my order would not be incorrect. The person who took my order then apologized and confirmed what I said. He then took the incorrect pastry back and placed it on a baking tray with other pastries, which is concerning to me, as it should have been thrown away and hopefully not served to another guest, then gave me the correct pastry I ordered. He then had an attitude of being inconvenienced when I asked for a receipt reflecting the price difference for the pastry I actually wanted. There wasn't a big price difference, but it's the principle of the matter. They were also newly opened and most of the tables were covered in crumbs. The previous employees I have interacted with have all been courteous, but this incident makes me doubt I'll ever refer or return again.
