I shop at this downtown Ross location often. This location seems to have different styles than most other Ross and locations and I absolutely appreciate that. I receive compliments all the time from beautiful blouses I am able to find at this location. This location seems to maintain a neat, shoppable appearance most times and that is a plus. The shoe department needs a lot of work in terms of replenishment. The accessory area is mediocre but okay. The home goods section is nice and has unique pieces from time to time. The men's department definitely needs a much better selection. The fitting rooms are in need of a make over and while "alright" to use, especially during Covid, the management needs to have associates do quick sanitizing every so often. The check out process can be a little daunting depending on the day and time you shop but the staff does a decent job of trying to move the line. Lastly, the "security" staff will circulate the store often even though they do use cameras and I welcome that because being located downtown does make for heavy customer traffic. HOWEVER, having been in retail management for over twenty years the "security" staff, particularly one who walks and watches on the borderline of stalking in a very obtrusive, negative, in a every-one-steals kinda- way really needs to take a chill- pill. It's ridiculous to patrol patrons who if you observe them are simply trying to actually SHOP AND MAKE PURCHASES. He will make you lose customers if he keeps this level of "security." Outside of getting past this, this store has great finds and very...
Read moreHorrible. I have been here on a few occasions and have noticed employees walking around the store. But on this particular day, I was shopping for toys in the back of the store. And I heard someone over the intercom. Immediately, an employee walked around looking at me, then walked around again then went directly in the aisle next to me. He then stood for a min then left. Then another girl walked around. And I watched others in the store , not far from me, other races, that they did not watch. I was going to purchase additional items but instead just purchased what was in my hand. Then as I went downstairs, the girl that had walked around was downstairs and the guy had disappeared so I asked for the manager, went back upstairs and told him. He was NOT apologetic, even after I said I know this is your job but the guy was VERY obvious and persistent in watching me. So I asked for corporate and intend on contacting them. I shop ROSS quite frequently in different areas approx every other week and spend good money there. And this is the only ROSS that I have felt scrutinized and PROFILED. Downtown Chicago Ross needs to do better. I work downtown as a government employee, have shopped at better places and...
