Our group of 4 drove down from Milwaukee after finding this restaurant highly rated and reviewed. We waited painfully, yet patiently in a line of cars 20 minutes long to park and then navigated our way through the chaos of Navy Pier to get to the highly anticipated Lirica.

While walking up to the front door, we were ready to wait for a table while noticing 8 available outside on their terrace. To our disappointment, we were greeted poorly by the hostess as soon as we stated that we did not make reservations. After glancing around indoors, we noticed that there were only guests seated at the bar and less than 25% of the tables occupied.

Still, the hostess chose to seat us in the corner of the terrace at the only table without an umbrella (see photo attached). Mind you, this was after stating that they were “booked solid with reservations.”

Our party graciously accepted this table as we already looked over the menu in the hour and a half car ride we had down to the city. We all had our cocktail and appetizer orders already decided on, yet we waited 5, 10, 15 minutes, in 90 degree weather, with the sun beating down on us only to be served water glasses.

After 20 minutes without a server visiting our table, we got up to leave. The gentleman making sure our waters were filled, apologized to us and stated that he would speak to the manager. However, by that point it was too late.

Unfortunately, we will never return to this establishment, nor recommend it to any of our friends and colleagues in the hospitality industry. I truly hope that they work this out as an organization and I hope that they learn from this feedback to do better in the future.

Our recent visit to Lirica was nothing short of a disaster. Our office team of 7 members was excited for a team dinner despite the rainy weather preventing us from strolling along the pier.

Upon arrival, we were given a table at the far end of the restaurant, even though a vacant table by the window was available. We kindly requested the window table to enjoy the lake view, but we were told it wasn't being serviced anymore that day. Fine, we thought, and reluctantly settled at the assigned table.

To add insult to injury, after a mere 10 minutes, another group of guests, smaller than ours, was seated at the very window table we had requested. This blatant disregard for our request left us feeling insulted and discriminated against.

As if that weren't enough, one of our drinks arrived with a fly inside it, which was the last straw. We had only ordered starters at that point and decided to leave, not wanting to risk further disappointment with the food.

Our experience at Lirica was a complete letdown. Inconsistent service, discriminatory treatment, and the presence of foreign objects in our drinks are unacceptable in any restaurant. Needless to say, we won't be returning to Lirica, and we hope they take these issues seriously to improve their customer service and...

The food was great but the customer service was terrible during our visit. Felt some sort of prejudice against us but I maintained my cool and simply chose to express my frustration here. For one I was charged automatic gratuity even though my bill was for a party of two and less than $50 (automatic gratuity applies to a party of 5+ and a bill over $50)

I tip no matter what because I have worked in this type of field and I understand how things go. But what bothered me was the principle of the matter. And how she underestimated my intelligence based on my physical appearance and the fact I have a scarf on. I only say this because I observed a different side of her when she served others. She didn’t even come and offer a refill on the coffee nor ask how everything was, it got to a point where I had to wave her down and I rarely do that because it’s rude and not proper. Also, before I would finish saying something I was cut off as if I was a bother.

On the other hand the only person that made me feel welcome was George, he is definitely an asset to this restaurant. He can read people well and definitely knows what customer service is...

Service was terrible from the guy at the bar. I didn’t even catch his name. He was so rude and short and me and my friend were standing there and we were talking to him and he was like guys walking up and he was just like shaking hands with them and taking their water first over our order my friends lobster roll was more bread than lobster. It was a mixture of things where you barely found any lobster inside of the roll. It was like imitation pieces over the lobster that was inside of the road. I think we seen like little bitty, tiny pieces of lobster, more celery, and sauce than anything. The muscles are very good. I just wish they had some butter and garlic on the bread that they provided with it then the best thing of the night was the empanadas I would order those again, but because of the room is of the staff, I don’t know if I will be back. Oh, it’s a nice place to see if you want to see the fireworks. And the prices are pretty decent as well

Plenty of indoor seating (for a late Friday night). Great service as a result! Items we ordered as of 8/2025: - Milk Braised Pork Shoulder - $30 - Decent though the turmeric cream sauce wasn't as flavorful as expected. Pork shoulder was decently tender. Would pass in the future. - Spicy Rigatoni - $23 (+ $12 for shrimp addition) - This was delicious. The rigatoni was good perfectly and the tomato cream was perfectly balanced. Shrimps were very large and well worth the extra $12. We would order this again! - Ceviche Tostada - $14 - Not bad and while the presentation is interesting, breaking the tostada to eat the thing was a bit of a hassle. It would probably be better with the Ceviche on the side and using the Tostada to scoop it instead of what they did here. - Key Lime Pie - $14 - Nice zest from the limes! We enjoyed this as the perfect palate cleanser after our meal.
