I ordered my food online because by the time I got to the restaurant it would be closing since they close at 4 pm. Today is Wednesday 4/3/2019. I wanted Mexican food, so I looked for places near me to get food for lunch. I found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. When I was ordering, I was experimenting with the prices and to order two tacos with delivery, it would have been $10+... for two tacos.... I decided to order the big burrito, the biggest size, and an order of beans. I wanted an order of rice and beans, but it was either an order of rice or a order of beans, there is no option to have them together. For the burrito and the beans, plus delivery, tax, and tip, my order came out to $16.47... By the looks of the picture, it was not worth so much money. The tomato and lettuce tasted like two days old refrigerated food and the beans were just like the re-fried caned beans. I ordered the steak and pork for the meat in the burrito, but honestly there was no taste. Compared to Chipotle, El Milagro, and Los Comales, it was very low quality food. I did not even get a spoon for the beans. The salsas were not spicy at all! The red salsa tasted like it was pozole broth. The green salsa did not taste like anything. I got called when my delivery arrived, which is what I asked for, but when I was handed my food, the man gave it to me and said, "here" with a serious face like if my food was nothing and when I offered him an extra dollar as a tip, he snatched it from my hand and did not even stop walking to receive it, but kept on walking and did not say thank you or smile or anything. I understand he was worried about his car being parked on Michigan Ave., but still.... Once again, for $17 totally...
Read moreQue delicioso! Was very happy to find this place. I've been looking for a nearby quality taco/burrito joint, that is open for breakfast, ever since the Taqueria in the pedway at Washington closed down a year ago.
I will not say this was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, but I will say that it's better than any alternative within a 10 minute walking radius. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito. It comes with chorizo, egg, potatoes and cheese. That's it. Pretty simple. You do get a pretty good house salsa on the side. I also asked for jalapenos.
A couple important things to note: 1) The size of the burrito is huge. They offer three sizes of burrito small, regular, and large. I got the regular and it was enormous. I didn't see the small, but I'm assuming that it would be sufficient. The large must use multiple tortillas. 2) The location. I circled the block looking for this place. I'm sure it's stated somewhere, but not clearly enough, that there is no storefront. Not even a sign. You have to go into the building at 105 W Madison, then walk down the stairs to the left of reception, into the food court. I went around 10a on a Thursday and it was very quiet at that time.
I will be back! Can't wait to try lunch here one day. They do...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for seven years and the owner never says you’re welcome no matter how much I say it. Most recently, I try to use Apple Pay and she keeps telling me I have to hold it this way or that way so it will pick up. Mind you I’ve never had an issue paying this way. I can’t hold it by the machine correctly because the tip jar is in the way. After a few minutes of trying to maneuver around the jar, I go to move it out of the way. She snatched it as I’m trying to rob the same tip jar I put money in 2...
