The inside is pretty contemporary. I was expecting a more rustic feel and think the vibe would be better with less contemporary. Went here before a play, waiter asked us our theater time and did everything to make sure we were served and out on time. The specialty drinks were great. The food was just so so. The lamb chops, while being an excellent tender cut of meat did not taste like lamb at all. You would swear it was beef. Not what I want out of lamb. The chicken Kiev, a bit tasteless as well. The spicy fried potatoes were excellent. Think I would go back just for that. Two rounds of drinks and 2 meals comes in about $110.

First of all the service. Excellent, no less. Staff really makes you feel at home, friendly and professional. The space is nice, simply designed with good taste. Food: lamb is nothing short but excellent, the dish is served with falafel, not only a great conbination but also one of the best falafels in Chicago. Try it out. Walleye fish well made, gentle and tender, excellent as well. I can also recommend the espresso. The only possible downside is the accoustics, you do hear all the conversations at the tables around, but it seems to be a part of the general atmosphere of the place. Bottom line - recommended for sure.

Ate here for lunch this week. Great service from the moment I walked in. Very attentive and warm hospitality. We got to sit in the "Chef's Library" - beautifully decorated with vintage kitchenware and flowers. The Grilled Caesar salad had quite the presentation to it. I had the Lamb Kafta Coca.. the tahini yogurt sauces made it! Our vegetarian friend even had multiple options to choose from. She said the falafel was some of the best she's had. Will definitely be back for more.

Great new restaurant! The moment I walked in (it is tucked away inside office building), I loved the polished and modern decor inside- very on trend yet simple. The food was well-prepared and seasoned. I had the chicken kiev and rice while my boyfriend had the pork chop (which was huge!). The chicken was perfectly moist and the pork melted in my mouth- both were outstanding. We were too full for dessert, but the options were very tempting, and I'm sure it would've been delicious. They also have a great cocktail list, and we're looking forward to coming back to try the happy hour.

Also special shout-out to Alex. She was so helpful / friendly walking us through the menu and was prompt in refilling our drinks, bringing out the food, etc. She delivered the kind of great service that one expects when going out to a nicer spot such as this one. All in all, we had a great time at Stock & Ledger and will...

I applied for a position at this location. I went in the day after applying to show my face and get a chance to meet with management. I went during the early lunch hour to avoid interrupting the lunch crowd. Upon arriving I asked for the manager on duty to speak to her about the position available. I smiled and shook her hand and told her why I was there. As soon as I told the manager I applied for a position her disposition completely changed. She was very short and told me they were already interviewing people. I tried to offer her more information about myself (name, email address, training/work experience) for her to locate my resume but she instantly objected. I hope this was not due to my race or gender. I am qualified for the position but did not get a chance to elaborate on any of my credentials. Please retrain your management. I have no plans...

The service was HORRIBLE and so was the food! There weren't many people there, yet we had to keep looking for our server! She didn't come by for long stretches of time. The food isn't what one would consider good, happy hour food...my friend and I looked at the menu and couldn't believe how complicated the happy hour menu was. We opted for the pizza and, upon tasting, regretted it. We were going to try another item, but we waited so long to get our server's attention, that we decided to get the check and go elsewhere. Whatever happened to baked potato skins, French fries, regular thin crust pizza, etc? I can't even remember the things they had on their menu. We will NOT be going...
